Jensen and Jared hosted by Jason Manns

YT1 YT2 YT3
The first talk on stage was Jensen and Jared, hosted by Jason Manns. However, the MC gave out the coffee lounge winners first, which was a very long succession of ticket numbers for the Misha coffee lounge.
Jensen and Jared sat and waited, then Jared stood up and looked over the guy's shoulder after a while.
Jensen: That's the longest European number I have ever heard, but somebody is just going to get a message. (He flicks his phone open.)
The MC says next are Jared's coffee lounge winners, and reads more.
Jensen: Bingo!
The MC asked him where did I get to, what was your "house" number and Jensen said "What's that? Oh, it's in there."
The MC finally left, and they started the panel, with Jason Manns saying he is supposed to "facilitate", and he hadn't done this before, so he wrote down a few questions to start it off.
Jensen: Very professional, Jason.
Jason: What is your address?
Jensen: That's probably not, not, let's pass to the next question,
Jason: Phone number?
Jared: You can't really…
Jensen: Again, I don't really think you're…
Jason: Well, if you guys are going to be difficult!
YT1 YT2 YT3
Jason: How was the trip out?
Jared: It was all right, I took a bath for the first time in like 20 years.
Jensen: Yea, he's being serious, he usually smells, and has for a long, long, long, long time.
Jason: The bath tubs are big enough for you?
Jared: I was really surprised you know, with the nice sized bathtubs.
Jensen: He was like this (acts all crunched up).
Jared: There was kind of shower gel so you have to stand up, you can't really lather your legs and wash your legs, because as soon as it goes under water……
Jensen: I'll get to my morning shower in a minute.
Jason: As we are doing the intros, if you guys would like to queue up at the mikes (and he waved vaguely towards the back of the room).
Jensen: Queue up, love that, (when no-one moved) don't all get up at once. (There was a bit of shuffling) Oh, I think we've got a line.
Jared: I love the fake out, Jason, microphones at the back, line goes back to the parking lot.
YT
Jared: Where's everybody from? Somebody from far away?
(a deafening screech of noise so that nothing much can be heard.)
Jensen: I hear it's lovely there this time of year. All right, we're done.
Jared: There was one I didn't catch.
(Someone shouts "San Antonio")
Jared: Really? Welcome, me too.
Jason: Are you planning on taking in any other European sights while you are here?
Jensen: Yea, well, we've got about a month left of break before we start into season five, and both Jared and I, we worked through our hiatus last summer doing film. And (audience shouts, wooow), My Bloody Valentine 3D, and, (waves vaguely towards Jared) some other movie, (audience laughs, Jared throws his hat down in fake anger) so we kind of both decided that maybe we would take some time and get some rest over the hiatus this year.
I've been here for about a couple of weeks, I went to Paris for about a week, then Scotland for a week, so I'm heading back home, but I think Jared's going to turn his, he's going to go look around.
(People start shouting for him to come to their country, which goes on for a while.)
Jared: I'm going to ***
Jensen: (points) Someone over here wants you to go to Oklahoma. (lots of audience shouting)
Jensen: Oh all right! Now I'm going home!
Jason: Are you ready to field some questions?
Jensen: I'll get that.
YT1 YT2 YT3
Jared: (shielding eyes) We can't see you. I'll start with the pretty lights.
(The mikes as they are directly under the spotlights and Jensen also shields his eyes from the glare as he looks towards the person asking the question.)
Q: Reels off (at length) Jensen's credits, AFGM, TIH, Series 5, MBV I'm afraid I preferred it to F13, sorry.
Jared: (to Jensen) ???
Jensen: Thank you, thank you, (to Jared) she liked Friday the 13th, but the old one.
Q: From TV, film, or theatre, if you could only do one thing for the rest of your career, what would it be?
Jensen: (looks around) Just one? Ummm probably a security guard: check the hallways, wear black on black for the rest of my life. You know, good question, (he leans forward and the seat rocks off balance).
That was graceful. Umm there's pros and cons to both, I definitely think theatre would take a back seat just simply because it… doesn't really pay, nearly as well, and to be honest it's a lot more work, but I like the consistency and schedule of TV, I'm used to it; film is very inconsistent, and as soon as you're done with a film you're basically unemployed, which can be very scary to a lot of actors, especially this time, in this day and age. So, I guess given the choice, I would really have to choose TV, but if I had my choice of television, I would have to go with half hour comedy, because those guys have it so well, they work about three weeks and then have a week off every month, whereas Jared and I, we, don't know what time off is. So, (audience awww, Jared points his mike) Can we record this and send this back to Warner Brothers? So yea.
Jared: ***
YT1 YT2 YT3
Jason: There's a mike over here, right? (other side)
Q2: Hi, Jensen, Jason and uhhh … Jared. (some laughs, Jared laughs and throws down his hat again in fake annoyance again)
Jensen: It's OK, we all respond to J.
Q: (with strong regional accent) Now that you live together, who is untidiest and who did the last DIY?
Jared: (laughs) I have no idea what just happened.
Jensen: I got who is the tidiest, and what was the last one?
Jared: I got 'your house, the last, DOA? who's intelligent?'
Jensen: To be honest, it's probably pretty equal. But he's got dogs so he wins in the animal hair department, and he's hairy. DOA? (they try to work out what DIY means.
Jensen: DOA? Oh, Do it yourself, DOI!
Jared: (laughing) DIY, DOIY, oh do I Y?
Jensen: Or, DOA. We could go on for days, OFD, on for days. The last? Probably mine, at his house, was assembling some gym equipment – that I never used.
Jared: For me, haha
Jensen: (walks away, wiping his brow) All right Jared, it's all done, buddy, it's all yours.
Q: Thank you very much.
Jensen: You're very welcome.
Jared: What was that? (joking)
YT
Q: Hello, this is for Jared.
Jared: Just don't call me "uhhh",
Q: Ooo?
Jared: Ooo will work.
Q: I gave you a painting of your dogs yesterday and wanted to make sure you got it.
Jared: That's right, someone put it safely aside for me here, it will come to me tomorrow, when I take off, because they will box it up, thank you, you showed it to me right? Yea it's great, thank you so much. (claps)
YT1 YT2
Q: For Jared, where did you get your luggage from?
Jared: What? (not getting "luggage" at all)
Jensen: So many interesting parts to that question.
Jason: Jared has a follow up question – how do you know what his luggage looks like?
Jared: You know what, there was that, one of the bags, the bag that his (points to Jensen) buddy gave me, who works for, your buddy?
Jensen: Oh, yea, I have a friend that works for the company Dakine, don't know if you're familiar, snowboard, surfing company and and he gave us a few bags a couple of days, uh, couple of years ago.
Q: On the show, you have lovely clothes but no luggage – it must pack small.
Jared/Jensen in tandem: (laughing) Oh, where does SAM get his luggage from?
Jensen: Walmart
Jared: Chevrolet, my luggage is a ton.
Jensen: Well, you know …
Jared: Has anyone ever seen a '67 impala, it's a huge car.
Jensen: But we also have a fairly large back seat (audience wooow) that is rarely ever seen, especially the floorboard, there, we've been able to pack big, giant duffelbags on those floorboards (big eyeroll! Audience laughs).
Q: Can you put a picnic in there?
Jared: Is that another code word?
Q: A packed lunch.
Jared: A packed lunch, uhhhh (looks at Jensen)?
Jensen: I do not know where this is going.
Q: What direction would you hope for Sam and Dean next Season?
Jared: I hope Sam goes to Hawaii – that direction, I guess that's like south west.
Jensen: I'm thinking Dean, maybe, Bahamas.
Jensen: No, I think, well, have you guys seen the finale?
Jared: Where are you up to?
(Majority of yes shouts, a few no.)
Jared: Who has seen the finale?
Jensen: Who hasn't seen the finale? ***
Jared: Whoever hasn't, (he demonstrates) raise both hands, and put them over your ears. (He repeats this with one hand and into the mike so we can hear)
Jensen: Well I won't ruin anything, but
Jared: Where Dean turns into an alien in the last episode, ***
Jensen: and Sam shoots lightning bolts out of his ass.
Jensen: For those of you who know, and for those who don't know I'm not going to ruin anything, but at the end we see the case of a little of the two maybe joining forces again and not being so divided as they were.
Jared: I hope they get divider.
Jensen: You know, story-wise, yea, I guess it works when they are fighting evil together, selfishly he and I get more time off if we are separated, so I'm split.
Jared: I feel like, and I know I'm gonna probably get some boos, cause I love when Sam and Dean collaborate, but I like the conflict, when Sam and Dean fight, I think it's very interesting, I'm sure we will get back together and join forces somehow, but until then, I'd like to see how dark Sam can get.
Jensen: We all have our problems.
Jason: When you guys have conflict on the show, fighting or whatever, is there ever bleed through, do you have to say I'll be in my trailer, we can go home in a little while?
Jensen: Does it ever like …?
(Jensen and Jared both completely confused and don't even get the question.)
Jason: Do you have to get away from each other a bit to get out of character, or is it just cut, and straight into a joke?
Jensen: I would say the latter, honestly, maybe first season we maybe took a while to shake off after a big scene, but after four seasons, or four years, we can be joking around, laughing hysterically and they they're like OK roll sound, camera set, we're hahaha, Action. So we basically come out,
Jared: Did someone say the A-word?
Jensen: (laughing at that) and, it's probably not the most professional trait that we have acquired, especially among the guest stars who come on and you know try to get into the scene and they're very prepared and need that kind of time to get their head-space, and
Jared: and I'm like hahaha,
Jensen: Meanwhile, I'm trying to get away from Jared's stench,
Jared: I just had a bath today, though.
Jensen: So it's not the easiest set to work on in that regard, you know, there's definitely not any drama going on, it's more just two children running around.
YT
Q: You had flashback episodes, so in a flash forward, which famous actor could play Sam and Dean in 10 years time?
Jared: I'd have to go with Malik would play me.
Jensen: Funny, cause I was thinking Denzel Washington. Yea, Denzel, or Susan Sarandon because I think they would really capture the essence of Dean. Umm I don't know. (Jensen rubs his eyes)
MC: Well, have a second to think about it, (audience) please, this isn't me asking, could you cut down on flash photography, you can take all the pictures you desire at the end, well not that you would ever desire, but stop the flashes for a little while, Jensen's trying to think.
Jensen: Just started thinking. I still see thousands of lights, haha. Um I don't know, to answer the question, there's a lot of probably qualified actors to…
Audience shout out, George Clooney,
Jensen: Clooney?
Jared: What about Jeffrey Dean?
Jensen: Who sends his love, by the way, I got a chance to hang out with him, before I left to come over here, he was on his way to Albuquerque, to start a film, he's doing back to back movies, he's a very busy man but he said man I wish I could go over there, and say what's up to the fans. Um who, where were we – George Clooney?
Jared: I don't know, I'll take suggestions, what do you all think? Robin Williams? (falls about laughing) I heard Robin Williams and George Lucas?
Jason: That was all one, that was Robert Downey Jr.
Jared: Done.
Jensen: Tom Welling? yea cos he's 50 years old,
Jared: Freddie Prinze Jr?
Jensen: We've bastardized this question. Another question, thank you.
YT1 YT2
Q: If you could trade places with a person, dead or alive, for one day, who would it be?
Jensen: Trade places? Well, I definitely wouldn't wanna trade places with a dead person. Come on man, just one day, one day, I want to lay there and do nothing for one day, hahaha. I don't know, you know, it might be kinda fun to be Mick Jagger, somebody who just has lived a life that not a lot of people could comprehend.
Jared: Paul McCartney.
(shout of Hugh Hefner)
Jensen: Hugh Hefner? Yea, but then I'd have to take like 9,000 pills when I wake up. Yea, maybe some giant rock star.
Jared: Or a giant athlete, like a quarterback, for a day. (shout of 'woman')
Jensen: Yea, Martha Stewart,
Jared: yea, make him cook, DOIY,
Jensen: DOI?
Q: This one for Jason, (Jason says he is not part of this.)
Jared: You can do it, you can go ahead,
Jensen: (to Jason) go on, take the question.
Jason: there are like 7 people who want to hear me and 1400 who want to hear you.
Jared: She waited in line, she waited in line, I'm going with her.
Jensen: Ask your question and if Jason doesn't answer I'll answer for him.
Q: How is the new album.
Jensen: Fantastic actually, I'm *so* glad you asked.
Jason: Oh good, Best. Album. Ever. That is the title. Well, I'm pretty busy doing other stuff (look around) right here at the moment, having a lot of fun, don't have any idea when it's coming out.
YT
Q: For Jensen, you said you want to be a security guard, will you be mine?
Jensen: Well that depends, do you NEED security?
Q: I'll pay you.
Jensen: Yes, I'll get my people on that right away.
Q: What did you do in Scotland and has Jared been there?
Jensen: I loved it, I had a great time, played some golf, visited some distilleries, saw something cool, more distilleries, played a little bit more golf, so yea, you know, I, it was great.
I was in Paris for about five days, Paris is a beautiful city, you know, I was telling him (Jared) this, it's full of culture there's so much to see, and it's hard to get it in just a few days, so when I got to Scotland I was like (relaxing breath),
Jared: (interjects) … seen it all, time to go.
Jensen: … umm it was beautiful, I had a great time, I'm trying to plan my next trip there.
Q: Were you sober at any time during this?
Jensen: Oh yea, yea, you know, if you've ever been, to a distillery, whisky tasting, they just give you a smidge, so I had to, uh, hold the girl down and grab the bottle.
Jared: I have been, yea, I love Scotland, I went there with my brother and we had a great time, we drove up to the Islands and I remember it was like sunny still at 11pm, which I loved, so yea I'd love to go back.
Q: Come to Glasgow.
JJ: thank you.
Q: What would Dean, Sam, Jared and Jensen sing at karaoke?
Jared: What Dean?
Jensen: (to Jared) What you would sing, what I would sing, and what Sam and Dean.
(Audience: Eye of the tiger)
Jensen: *** Ahhh I'm sure Dean would sing (Jared: classic rock) something from ACDC or Kashmir or something. Sam on the other hand, maybe some Pat Benetar, Carly Simon, Carole King,
Jared: Yea, Sam would do more Coldplay type and Jared would be country.
Jensen: Yea, Jensen as well, you know (Jensen makes a face at them both talking about themselves in the third person).
Jared: Jared – I
Jensen: I – I would, Johnny Cash is good and easy. (Audience shout NSYNC, for some strange reason) To sing? Oh, NSYNC, yea, (sarcastic) anything off the Little Mermaid album.
YT1 YT2
Q: Can you do Eye of the Tiger?
Jensen: If I can what? You want me to do Eye of the Tiger? (music starts, he shakes his head, lowers the mike and whispers something like "I hate you" to Jared, who laughs and denies it was him, and Jensen smiles and shakes his head, the music stops, and the audience boo loudly) Oh, let it go!
Jason: When they put that on the episode, did you know they were going to do that?
Jared: I did not, Jared did not.
Jensen: The what?
Jason: Did you know they'd use it in the episode of you playing leg guitar?
Jensen: Use that on the episode? Ahhh Phil who directed the episode,
Jared: Sgriccia
Jensen: yep, called me, doing the final editing, saying hey man I think we're going to use that clip over the credits at the end and I said you're an idiot, why, that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard! I thought it was, it might make the gag reel, (crowd: awesome) so, yea, I knew it was going to be used, but I got the phone call, I was kind of shocked that they would even consider it. (audience – you'll never live it down!)
Jason: what did you think after you saw the clip and knew it was going out to millions of people?
Jensen: I was like, at least I didn't look TOO bad, at least I knew SOME of the words, I seriously hadn't, like, there was no reason to,
Jared: ***
Jensen: *** before, crank that up in my trailer, so, I hadn't heard the song in a little while, I think it might be on one of my workout I-Tunes mix, (Jared, putting his hat back on, yelps) Don't you know it! So I, hopefully, you know, there won't be anything like that in Season 5. (sigh) Ah man.
YT
Q: I am from Germany, so forgive my English.
Jared: I actually understood that more, congratulations.
Q: Can you say some German?
(Both look at each other with bemused grins.)
Jensen: Take it away (motions for Jared to go ahead).
Jared: Nein? Nein.
Jensen: Or, what's the other option?
Q: (something) Maybe tomorrow.
Jensen: You're giving us homework? Learn German and report back to me tomorrow. I don't know any German, ummm … (audience shout "Guten Tag") (Looks around at the shouting) I don't understand English. You know what, the only one I could conjure up are probably inappropriate words, those generally tend to be all the ones that stick. (to Jared) You know some Polish.
Jared: ***Polish
Jensen: You have a suggestion?
Q: (A lot of German-sounding stuff)
Jason: No, he will not make out with you.
Jensen: I think that was my address in German, ummm, ahhh, I'm sorry, you know, I will brush up on my German – and we have a tutor here.
YT1 YT2
Q: I'm Irish, and show people around, on golfing holidays, and you're welcome to come and visit.
Jensen: Your couch, guest room?
Q: You did an episode where you played against yourself, which episodes were technically challenging from an actor's point of view?
Jared: ***
Jensen: Um, technically challenging, you know, In the Beginning, was
Jared: That's when he goes back … I'll be over here… (gets up to leave)
Jensen: That was technically challenging, because I didn't have him (Jared) to work with. (laughs) ***
Jensen: Umm, gosh I don't know, I mean they all have their little bits of difficulty, technically it's really more up to the crew what becomes technical, it just depends on who's directing, I don't know (to Jared) did you do any difficult shows this year?
Jared: Probably the one …switch.. hard one, kinda
Jensen: Yea, it's always weird when they throw us into an alternate reality, and all of the things that I've come to rely on to play Dean, I'm not allowed to use any more, all the little tricks, so having to play against that, and kind of lose all that, is difficult, but still be Dean. Yea, so that one was difficult, the one wearing suits, and you were
Jared: Probably the ..
Jensen: Yea, and I had to drive the Prius and listen to MPR.
Q: Give the car our love. Metallicar.
Jensen: The car? Not the Prius, oh, OK. (Jensen rubs his eyes again)
Jason: We have about 5 minutes left, so about two more questions. (audience boo)
Jensen: I could do this all day. (audience cheer) But then we wouldn't have any pictures or autographs. (Ambivalent noise)
Jensen: No, that was supposed to be more (motions up with fingers)
YT1 YT2
Q: Of all of them, which episode was most fun to film?
Jared: Throughout all the four years? I had a lot of fun doing "In the Beginning". (laughter)
Jensen: Ahhh, the most fun, you know actually Yellow Fever, was a lot of fun,
Jared: So was Ghosthunters, actually
Jensen: Yea, Ghosthunters was fun because it was a completely different, out of the box, way of filming the show, but YF was fun just because there were a lot of really stupid moments in it that I got to be a complete idiot. The cat scene, (audience cheer and shout) umm, what? The flashlight?
(Jared whispers "what flashlight?" to Jensen, who whispers back "I dunno"; the audience laugh)
Jensen: I just nod.
YT
Jason: Time for our last question, no pressure, got to be like the best question.
Q: (waffle) How did it compare working with each other every day on Supernatural, rather than being on a film set not knowing anybody else?
Jensen: Um, (whispers something to Jared)
Jared: I've had a great time, obviously, since we've done like 82 episodes, we've learned how to, it's easy to get the work done when you know the other guy's gonna play up to speed and you can help each other out, you can, it's like playing tennis with someone who's as good or better, you make each other better because you're playing hard, it's not just like, all right well I guess we just go out there and wing it, so it's been really nice to establish some sort of …
Jensen: rapport. Also, it's easier to prepare because I can read a script and I know in a general sense how he's going to play a scene, just because I know him and I know Sam, and so it makes it easier to kind of learn the scenes and prepare in that way, whereas if you're doing a movie with actors you don't know, you don't really know how they're going to attack the material, so it's kind of a guessing game until you actually get on set and you're like oh well, you're doing it completely different than I thought, so that changes everything that I'm going to do, so in that sense it's a bit more of a grey area, but when you're working four years together it kind of becomes a little bit more … smoothed out.
Q: It's nice to see you here in person and to see the chemistry we all see when we watch the show.
Jensen: Thank you.
Jared: claps.
MC: Flash away! (Flash photography is now allowed)
YT1 YT2
Jensen: Oh, (stands up) and just, everybody a side note, just so that I don't have to answer this question a hundred times today, I have a blood spot on my eye, I had LASIK surgery done, a few weeks ago, and this is just, it's like a bruise from that, so I didn't get in a fight, Jared didn't hit me, it's just a bruise on my eye from the surgery, everything's fine, it'll be gone in a week.

Jared panel

YT1
Jared comes on stage, preceded by the tallest bouncer in Birmingham who is just (perhaps) taller than he, and Jared is a lot (feet) taller than the MC.
Jared: Welcome, nice to see everybody again, you all been here all day long or did some of you just get here? All right, anybody else jetlagged? OK good, I got like two or three. I guess we're doing some questions, so let me get down to business, or I'll just jabber all day long. Mikes on either side by the lights, OK, I can't see anything so I'll just point over in that direction. (to his left)
YT1 YT2 YT3
Q: Hi I'm Polish, … anyway,
Jared: I'm Jared, nice to meet you Polish, strange name, but it's OK, (then laughs at the way she ignores the joke) 'anyway',
Q: So, of the seven sins, which is your favourite?
Jared: Uh, say it again, which one is my favourite? Gluttony, yea, put a cheesecake or a steak in front of me and I will just go to town, so I've got to go with gluttony. Thank you. Thanks, Polish
Jared: Hi I'm Jared, and Polish.
Q: A random question, if you were going to steal an elephant how would you do it and where would you hide it?
Jared: If I was going to steal an elephant? You'd need somewhere with a lot of free space, so probably like the crotch of Jensen's pants. He's not around here is he? I'm just kidding, yea that's what I'd do, I'd put it in a beanie and a pair of sunglasses, call it my big dog, like it's a mastiff, tell somebody it's a mastiff, they'd go oh cool. So, I'd have to go with that. Thank you. Anybody else?
YT1
Q: I gave you the gummi sweets earlier.
Jared: Thanks, I just ate a bunch.
Q: What's the best prank you pulled?
Jared: My favourite prank, I guess that I pulled, cause we do pranks, and kind of goof around with each other, and one of the things I like to do is, not in an important scene, not an emotional scene, I like to mess with people, just try to make them laugh. Like one scene I was just pinching on Jim Beaver's toes, and I promise you, I was pinching so hard and he was it was like nothing, and finally, we cut and he's like you're a damned idiot. But there was another time, we were filming Yellow Fever, and there was a scene where I'm supposed to find Dean in the car, and I decided not to show up, just to see what he'd do, and we all know what he did, so I'm happy with that one. Thank you.
YT1 YT2 YT3
Jared: A question for my dogs?
Q: Tell us an anecdote about the difference between your two dogs.
Jared: OK, Does anybody know the (Steinbeck) book, 'Of Mice and Men?' Yeah. Harley is big, dumb and happy, Sadie is little and smart and conniving. She's the criminal mastermind, she's definitely the alpha female, and he's just happy to be petted.
YT1 YT2
Q: After you finish filming Supernatural five?
Jared: Supernatural six? I think, there is no reason I'm saying this other than a hunch, but my best guess is that Supernatural will go beyond season 5, whether that's, I haven't heard anything, but my best guess is that, because in the States, S4 was our strongest season yet, you're all getting the word out which we really appreciate, and people are tuning in and figuring out it's a good show, so thank you but my guess is it will go beyond 5 to 6.
YT1 YT2
Q: Out of Sam and Dean, who has killed the most demons?
Jared: I think obviously you see Sam what he can do with his mind and we also got a hint, in the episode, have you seen "I Know What You Did Last Summer"? OK, then you know because we go back in time and see Sam and Ruby doing all sorts of things (audience laugh and Jared looks around and laughs). We ALSO see Sam learning to exorcise demons so I think he was getting so good, he probably went through quite a few, he even says in one of first episodes, when Dean finds out what he's doing with his mind, what I do works, kills the demon and a lot of times saves the host, so he's got a lot of experience.
Q: Do you think Jensen would say Dean?
Jared: I think he'd say Sam actually, I think so, but I'll ask him.
YT
Q: I know you support PETA, a few years ago supermodels did a campaign for PETA, (audience noise as we recall the campaign and guess where the Q is going!) they didn't wear very much, would you take your campaign in that direction?
Jared: (Clearly unaware of that PETA campaign) In the direction of? To emphasize not wearing fur, to not wear clothes? Is that what the question is? Ummm I don't know, I think PETA, for those who don't know is an animal rights group in the States, probably worldwide I imagine, but it's great, and I am interested in supporting it, anything to get the word out, I don't think I'd go naked for it, because I'm not a model, just an actor, but I'd be willing to put myself out there.
YT1 YT2
Oh, something, someone said to me today, something and it disturbed me because the internet is a strange world, someone said they had heard something from me on twitter, and I know this will disappoint a lot of people, but the God's honest truth, I do not have twitter, I do not have facebook, I do not have myspace, I never have, so people that are "me", are actually just pretending to be me, because if I also had a twitter or facebook it probably wouldn't be under Jared Padalecki, you know, point being I've never had one, and I want you all to be careful, because I know you're probably offering your support and love, and I appreciate that so much, but it's not me. I know Jim Beaver has one. (shouts) Misha does too? OK, Y'all sure? OK, OK. But I know Jensen does not, and I for sure do not, so I just want you guys to know, and it's nothing, no problem I have with it, just I really don't know how to use it, I wish it was like I'm cool, I don't use it, but it's not I just don't know, I just want to clarify that. Thank you.
YT
Q: We all have little celebrity crushes, what is yours?
Jared: My crush on a celebrity? Ummmm
(Audience shout Jensen)
Jared: I didn't say anything! Ummm my crush on a celebrity, I would crush on Kate Winslet. I think she is super talented and beautiful and she is (audience shout English)… Sorry, I'm vibrating.
YT1 YT2 YT3
Q: Hi I'm Catherine.
Jared: I'm Jared, and Polish.
Q: Do you remember any Latin from the show?
Jared: Latin? Oh yea, ummm how does it start? Uhhh, I used to, because I did that scene with Malik where I had to be dunking his head, so it was the only one where I couldn't – that scene that takes place in the police precinct, I had to keep on dunking his head into the pool while yelling Latin at him, that was the only scene where I couldn't actually read it, so I had to memorize it, I used to know the whole thing, anybody know for sure how it starts? (Some vague shouting,) maybe I don't remember it, I feel bad, I'll brush up now because that's disappointing, I even took Latin in High School, I'm sorry. I'm disappointed with myself. But I thank you. (audience ahhhh)

Q: At the end of New York Minute, you dance the robot, was that scripted?
Jared: We did not really know the cameras were still rolling, that was an early life lesson, be careful what you do in front of cameras that are not rolling, because they are rolling, no, that was just kind of Riley and I and everybody being goofy,
Q: Can you do it for us now please?
Jared: I couldn't even do it in the first place, dancing is not my speciality, thank you, for embarrassing me in front of everybody.
Q: Did you do any sight-seeing in my country Australia when you were there in April?
Jared: I didn't realise it was your country, I would have asked for permission. I did, I've been to Australia five times, I love Australia, up and down the East coast, up and down, Cairns, as far as Great Barrier Reef, went to Sydney, saw a bunch of Sydney, Bondi, Manly, the harbour bridge, the tour?
Q: Did you do the harbour bridge climb?
Jared: I did.
Q: Did you go up the AMP tower, the city tower?
Jared: I don't think I did, is that a good one? Next time, I'll be back, I love Australia. Nice to meet you, I've heard of somebody ruling Australia. Thank you.
YT
Q: Your character has gone dark, do you like that?
Jared: I love it. (audience cheer) I do love it, I was on a show called Gilmore Girls for five years. (cheers) Thank you, I was like this sweet guy, and then Supernatural kind of started, and I was, not sweet, but the clean one, Dean was the one who'd run-and-gun and shoot first, ask questions later, and gradually Sam has grown up, I like that he's been changed by everything that's happened, if Sam went through 82 episodes of killing demons and ghosts and spirits, and almost being killed by them and was still like that, it would be what's going on. I think it's fantastic that Sam has grown, and changes, he's been a little weathered by war, but he will be redeemed I'm sure if something goes wrong. But I like the direction it's going, the new dynamic, of brother versus brother, I still like the episode Skin, where Dean and Sam fight, I think it's a very interesting dynamic, it's one thing if Sam and Dean are hunting ghosts, go!Sam-and-Dean, when it's Sam vs Dean and they both think they are doing the right thing, and they both think they are doing it for the right reason, then the audience is in turmoil, I don't want Sam to lose, I don't want Dean to lose, I want them both to win, but both can't win, I like the sort of confusion that it causes all y'all guys.
YT
Q: Do you have any influence on the character development?
Jared: I can try, it never hurts to say. I have input with the writers, with Kripke especially, I can call and say listen, I kind of think this is a little bit intense for Sam, can we make the transition more gradual, or can it be because of this, can I add a touch of that, I can colour the performance, but I can't just call Eric and say Sam should teach English or Sammy should go be a barista at Starbucks, make coffee, that's what he really wants. Kripke has his grand scheme, and he's going to follow that. I can help guide the ship of Sam along the river of Eric. (He laughs and makes a face, clearly regretting that metaphor). But, I guess that's about the extent of my say.

Q: Would you rather be an angel or a demon, if you weren't Sam?
Jared: Demon. (Cheers) I always, I've already kinda played a demon, I got possessed by a demon. I like the dark side, it's gonna make me sound, hehehe (evil), but I definitely like playing that, I played the good guy for a while, plus I wouldn't want to have to fill Misha's shoes, he's doing a great job, "I raised you from perdition". (tries again) "I raised you from perdition". I would rather be a demon, demons are fun to play, plus demons get more time off.
YT
Q: You are an animal lover, your dogs are rescue dogs?
Jared: They were, uhh, they aren't rescue dogs in that's what they do, but I rescued them from a shelter. Shameless plug, I've been working with a company, adogsliferescue.org, and I am a great animal lover, my dogs have both been rescued, and this is a great company run by two women, that are amazing and really care about animals, and I was going to say, all your support means so much to me, but instead of maybe getting something for me, which I appreciate so much, if y'all would do something for animals that can't help themselves, that'd be great.

Q: You are just perfect. (audience cheer)
Jared: You just earned yourself a second question.
Jared: (takes hat off) Just got to do that (he shakes his hair out like a giant dog, and the audience shout) I got hot.
Jared: I don't know what that means. Oh, like caliente mui caliente. Gracias, Si.
Q: Hi Jared
Jared: Ola.
Q: Are there any monsters you liked, or would like to see?
Jared: I loved Bloody Mary, we did that episode early on, I loved the Hookman legend, that was the second one we shot after the pilot, but there's also, there's a Twilight Zone or something, about Shadowman, it sounds so funny but I grew up watching TZ with my Dad, we used to watch this show called Shadowman, about a shadow that kinda protects you at night time, it protects you from bullies, yada yada, but if it gets angry, all of a sudden it will turn against you, and that was terrifying to me, I would like not look at my own shadow, afraid it was going to turn against me. So, if the writers are watching, Shadowman, bring it on.

Q: If you were a ghost for a day, whom would you haunt?
(Audience: Jensen)
Jared: I see enough of Jensen. I'd probably haunt the writers, sneak in and see what they really say about you, because we call and we're like we want to work with this dialogue, it doesn't feel like it's meshing right now, and they're like yea cool, whatever you want to do. I want to know what happens when I hang up the phone 'dang Jared and Jensen, they're so stupid blah blah blah,' so I'd love to see what goes on behind closed doors in the writers room.
Q: Hello my little cupcake. I think you're perfect too – can I get two questions?
Jared: Hello. Absolutely, is that one of them.
Q: McG directed Terminator, were you and Jensen offered parts, and why not?
Jared: No we were not, I didn't see the film so I don't know if there were parts for us, but because Supernatural shoots for nine months, June 30th we start over, we shoot July-March, nine months of the year, and Terminator was an 8-month shoot, so we just can't do it because we're not available, so it's impossible, that's why a lot of TV actors that you see don't do more movies, because there's no time available. I was offered GI Joe, but I couldn't do it because I was doing Supernatural.
Q: You would have made a kick-ass soldier.
Jared: I agree, I like the way this line of questioning is going.
Q: So, in that case, if you're offered Season six, would you rather not do it, and do movies?
Jared: It depends where the show is, I do not want. I was a huge fan of Lost season one, I thought it was fantastic, thought I'd never see a drama that I'd love so much, then it started getting complicated just for the sake of being complicated, a great show, it could have been so complete, just answered the questions, but instead, add this, oh we'll figure it out later, so I don't want that to happen, if there's still a story to tell, and if there is still something for me to bring to Sam Winchester, absolutely.
But in the interests of craft, I don't just want to, the famous adage is season six, everybody, residuals and syndication, life is good, buy a new car, but it's not about that, I'm an actor still, by craft, and I want to be focussed on building that character, devoting myself to that character, and then if it's all been played out doing it again with someone else. So, if there's a story to tell, something for Sam Winchester to do, otherwise I think Sam and Dean should go out fighting. (audience clap and cheer)
Q: Will you marry me?
Jared: Will I what? I can't, but I thank you very much for saying.

Q: What was the most difficult scene for you, emotionally, and technically?
Jared: I don't want to ruin anything for those who haven't seen it, but episode 21 of season four, it's called When the Levee Breaks, That was emotionally exhausting, I actually said it was, in the beginning, for those who haven't seen it, I'm not going to get too much into it, but the first maybe 15 minutes, maybe 20 minutes of the episode, I'm in one place the whole time. So, It actually took three days to film, three eight days because we shoot an episode of TV in eight days, and half of that time was devoted to those scenes that took place in that same room that I'm in. And it was all me, I mean we had some great cameos by some great actors, but I was in every single scene in that room, and so it was a lot of hard work, and I actually at the end of the first day I was like I can't do that again, I can't, I'm exhausted. I would just go home and crash out, zonk out, wake up and like you got to be kidding me, and I actually said at the end of those three days, that was the hardest three days work I have ever done in my life. So, probably, I have actually, doing the scene I was getting so into part in the scene that I burst blood vessels above my eyeballs, yea, so I was like I'm cool. (looks up at screen) I don't know, see you guys later, there's still a little bit of redness, from where I bust the blood vessels in my upper eye (audience: it was worth it) Thank you.

(Jared fans himself, and pulls at his shirt, and audience shout "take it off, off off off!")
Jared: I'll take my shoes off – all pass out. It's not coming off, just try to palm it off on you (to bodyguard). They're trying to get me to strip, yea, all right, sorry go ahead.

Q: What would be your ideal thing to do if you got a day off?
Jared: Really? And it's mid-week? If it's Friday or a Monday it's different, so if it's T/W/Th? (every day) Well, it's a Monday. Honestly a good day for me if I'm by myself, usually if I'm not working, it means Jensen is, so I can't really hang out with him, but I got two dogs, everybody knows, so take them for a run, work out, you know ummm (looks around) tan, naked (model face – then he laughs and motions no).
Q: What time do you normally get up out of bed on your day off?
Jared: Uhh depends on how … you tell me! (She does, and he gets up and walks around)
Jared: I'm nervous, is there a furnace in here? Uhhh, it depends on how late I worked the night before, usually I like to be an early riser and get stuff done (lots of lewd laughter). To wake up early in the morning, and do errands.
Q: Any DIY?
Jared: Regularly. Get stuff done around the house, yes, I'll do some DIY, OU I'll kinda horse around, around the house, and then I like to maybe cook a steak at night, have some wine, relax. Pretty boring I guess, but when you work so much you want to just kind of take it easy, cos usually, on my day off, it's so funny because we get a day off every now and again, Jensen and I are like I don't know what to do, honestly, one time we both had a day off because … oh, Misha was filming all day long, you'll see episode 20, and so we kinda woke up and it was like what are we going to do man? All day long. We should go to set and see what's going on? We did not, but, it's tough, you just want to kinda relax. Thank you.
MC: Last couple of questions, sorry. (audience boo and groan)
Q: When you auditioned did you want to be any other character?
Jared: You know, I wanted to be Sam, I really liked, I already played "Dean" for five years on Gilmore Girls, I really liked the character of Sam so that's what I wanted to be and when they came to shut at me and Jensen. He was on Smallville and I was on Gilmore Girls so they knew that they liked us and we were already part of the Warner Brothers family so they kind of brought us in, hand-picked us for these roles, and I was just more interested in Sam's arc, my character's kind of like Neo, and his nature is like Star Wars, like Luke Skywalker the reluctant hero, that finds out he has this destiny, and his struggle with that that. So I was really interested in that. Good question, thank you. (aside) Stay there.
YT
Q: I am from Rome, sorry for my English.
Jared: It's very good so far.
Q: First, I love you more than Jensen (audience cheer and clap). Like Tom Welling for example, would you like to direct in the future.
Jared: OK, yea, Tom has directed a few Smallvilles, I would love to be behind the camera, I would actually love to produce, and I think I have, more than directing, I think I have, I get a feeling about some scripts some times, like this doesn't work, or that doesn't work. Something that's not necessarily a director's decision or an actor's decision, it's more like a producer's decision, and I'd like to sort of. The producer's kind of like the captain, puts these actors in, gets this director for these actors, and makes sure the scene has enough this, enough drama and comedy and all the elements that are necessary in a show or a film. So, I'd love to be behind the camera, thank you.
Q: Evening, Jared,
Jared: Evening, oh my gosh (looks at watch)
Q: You've done quite a few of these conventions now, answered a lot of questions, is there anything you'd like to ask your fans.
Jared: Yea, uhh are you all going to answer at once? (audience: the answer's yes). Ha, the answer's yes. Yes, I guess, an honest question which is probably a very individualised answer, obviously, like you said, I have been to so many of these conventions, as has Jensen, and I'm sure Misha is now on the road to doing more, and Jensen's been doing more, and we all have our own reasons for coming, but I wondered what you guys reasons are, I'm sure way to, up and down all around, can't talk at once, I assume it's because you all… (because of you) That's the right answer! Thank you, give her a prize, come and give her a prize, that's the right answer. Thank you. Maybe I'll hear from you all.
Q: A doggy question.
Jared: Fair enough. Awesome.
Q: Have you got a foolproof technique to calm them down?
Jared: Yea, actually, how old, what is he/she? OK, great dogs, Staffordshire/Labs, they are all great dogs, but I stole this from the dog whisperer, you got to exercise those babies, you have to, the best thing, they say a tired dog is a good dog, especially a puppy, like Labs are famous for it, they are all over the place, so much energy, so much love but just can be rambunctious and a terror, so get one of those they call them "catch its", hold the handle and the thing goes up, ball just flies, the dog runs, gets it back. Try and keep it exercised, because that's what I did for mine, my Shepherd, she's like super-energetic, so I have to really make sure I exercise her.
YT
Q: How did they do the stunt in "When the Levee breaks" going around the wall.
Jared: We had a stuntman go from the ground to the wall, he had a harness on, and there was no roof in the room, so we had a giant cable going to a harness, secured on his back, then he had a harness on underneath his Sam clothes, so they yanked it and he flew up onto the wall and then they had him get dragged along the wall, and then had me do the same, but if this is the wall behind me, they had a camera there, so I had to hold myself against that and go round, much more graceful than that, but yea. It's like a big, multi-step process, and also, you can't tell, most of the wall is rubber for that specific scene, other times it was some sort of composite, but for that scene, for safety, it was rubber, amazingly painted to look authentic.

Q: When Supernatural ends, if you are allowed, what memorabilia would you like to take, cars not included, and how would you get it out?
Jared: I guess the Impala's not included. You know what? I'll tell you how, you put it in drive and stamp your foot on the pedal, and you just, ahh. I'm sure there is a piece of memorabilia I'd love, (audience shout: colt) the which? Yea the colt is good, we have a few of those: the demon-killing knife is pretty cool. I think I have one of the coolest pieces of memorabilia, which was theft, but, I have, and maybe I'll auction it for charity one day. But, in the finale of season one, Sammy is driving his Daddy and his brother, and they get hit by a car, and so, when we shot the scene it was like the last scene we shot of the year, and we were sitting there, and it's like three in the morning, I'm sitting in the driver seat, and the car's already been run into, and so Jeff's sitting there, and Jensen's back there, and I'm just kind of sitting and then I look down.
For those who haven't been in an old school car, it's a '67 Impala, and the horn-honkers were emblems, and the one in the Impala was Impala, and it just goes in the centre of the steering wheel, and so I was sitting there, and it's like three in the morning, and I was like, I don't know if we're coming back next season, yoink. I've got it.
Thank you guys, we're going to have the big group shot, thank you so much.
