Dean is kinda 80's? Jensen loved Airwolf, but Kripke grew up then, so that's probably why. Changing the mythology? Some plot holes are due to this being the third showrunner, after 172 episodes, the writers have to take some liberties because they have painted themselves into a corner from previous showrunners they sort of wrapped up the story.
Gold panel Jensen got a text from Christian Kane a day or two ago saying Leverage is wrapped, call if he wants Chris to come up to be in SPN, Jensen says it's not up to us.

It's rare that we shoot out of order, for a previous episode, but we have no idea what's going to happen in 10 episodes, and we can't go back and change previous episodes. Misha famously wishes he didn't do the voice like that in his first episode. We saw the S8 gag reel, we could make a 3-hour gag reel.
Jared was really good as Lucifer and I was so mad, because that was the hardest episode for me of all 172, it was just Dean and Dean, then Jared came in as Lucifer and stole the whole show – of course he had 5 days off to prepare for it. Directing? Jensen: I'm a glutton for punishment, Jared saw what it did to me and decided not to! I will do it again, if they let me.

Actually Jared did say a few adorable things, like now that he’s on hiatus, he’s putting in a lot of daddy time. Imagine his surprise when he discovered that parenting is actually harder than his day job.
Someone asked Jared for advice about being an actor, and Jared had some words of wisdom — be yourself, and don’t try to fit into a particular role, i.e. the pretty boy or whatever.
Jared: There are better actors out there who could play Sam.
Fans: No way.
Jared: And there are actors out there who are better looking.
Fans. No really. NO WAY.

So we are just hanging out waiting on the last of the J2M photo ops to finish so we can have Jared’s time. Jensen left right after saying goodbye to us all very graciously on his way out.
Misha was apparently waiting on his handler to finish paperwork or something so he could go catch a plane. He came over to chat with us while she was doing that. He didn’t really say anything of importance just chatting and asking us how our weekend was and that he was leaving directly to get on a plane.
Finally Jared comes over and is asking why we don’t have chairs. We explain the cramped confines of the original VIP and that this was actually much better. He’d probably die in there! I joke about how we should get a group photo for the lack of chairs and Jared being Jared gets all (jokingly) indignant and says something like “Yeah that’s a good idea!” and asks Chris to come take our photo. We get into the group pose, Chris snaps the picture and Jared says “Another one, we’ll pretend we are sitting on chairs!” so that’s how those two pictures happened.

Then we move over to the table where Chris is back to printing con photos and Jared asks how things are going and he’s sweating his ass off. I tell him to take off the sweater and just leave the button up on and make sure he realizes that comment was NOT in any way being weird or perverted. He says that Gen bought him the sweater and it was very soft and he wanted to look nice for everyone. Then laughed and jokingly says that when your wife buys you a sweater, you wear it.
Another girl mentions the Ghostfacers being here and he says he hasn’t seen them in forever and heard AJ looked different so I pull my phone out and show him the picture and he’s literally zooming it in and up and down saying “wow!” and then finally Chris hands him this photo that was taken of just AJ and Travis showing off their “guns” and we are all talking about how different they are.
Someone asked about his shoes because we all thought they were Chucks. He says they are actually from a friend of his and are called Native. One of the girls asked him about Gen. Why she wasn’t there and he said that Thomas was having a tough time, during teething. Something about his thumb in his back teeth (forgive me I know ZERO about children so most of this went over my head) . Basically he said when he got up to come to NJ she was in bed and exhausted so he told her to stay. I asked if she was ever going to do a convention and he said that she actually wants to. Me and another girl then told him we would have dragged her into our photo ops. And the group agreed we’d love to see her on the panels. I mean she was a big part of the show IMO. He said he would pass that along and hopefully it would work out someday soon.  One of the girls starts talking to Jared about another con and I see the handlers walk in the room so I say “I’m sorry I don’t want to interrupt but I have to ask you a couple of questions that I’ve been waiting for months for” and he’s immediately full attention on me saying of course and grabs my hand. So I ask him what his charity is currently and very briefly tell him about the DVD giveaway for Jensen and say that I’d like to maybe do something similar for his for Torcon. He says it’s A Dog’s Life and St Jude and that he used to be just all about dogs but since having a family St Jude has become very dear to him. So I ask which he prefers. I don’t think I really got a straight answer but either one should be good!
Then I tell him about the Thomas photos being spread and how I’ve come to be increasingly uncomfortable reblogging them as adorable as they always are. He says “Sometimes we’ll be out and Thomas will be doing something cute and Gen will say “Oh I wish we had a camera” and I just say “give it 30 minutes and we can find it on google!” and we all laugh. So I say I assume that means he’s okay with it. He said at first he was bothered but now he’s not and they just take it in stride and usually love the photos when they make their way back to he and Gen. So I clarify by saying something like “So you are okay that we all reblog/post/etc of Thomas because we want to respect your wishes” and he says that really, it’s fine but thanked us for being so great and asking him.

Jensen talked about what makes someone a good actor too, saying it came down to being able to make someone believe it. He reads his scripts the night before and makes notes all over it, because he likes to follow his initial instincts in playing the scene. Though he and Jared are always open to the nuances of the scene, and will sometimes change a word or a line because they feel it differently.
He also talked about how much playing Dean over the past eight years has impacted his life. He puts on those boots and those faded jeans, and he’s Dean. He’s a part of Dean, and Dean’s a part of him — one he’ll carry with him even after the show is over. Actor Josh Jackson told him that when a long-running series ends, it’s like you have to reintegrate into society.
What is his psychological take on how Dean is dealing with not being able to be the one to do the trials, and having to watch Sam suffer through them. Jensen said that of course it’s tough on Dean, he’s a stubborn bastard, and he feels like he should be doing them. In that scene where Dean tells Sam that he’s the grunt, he’s the one who should take them on, so Sam can go on and live a long and happy “normal” life, the scene got very emotional. They went with a more stoic version because they felt that fit the scene better, but apparently both actors got caught up in the emotions for some of the takes.
We had a few laughs with Mr. Ackles in the meet and greet too. He loves working with Felicia Day, and they make each other laugh. A fan asked him about a continuity glitch about the boys never having been to the Grand Canyon and then Sam suddenly remembering being there as a four year old with Dean on a farty mule – Jensen agreed it would be nice to have a continuity bible somewhere on set, and then joked about his favorite episode being the one where they go to the Grand Canyon.
Then we asked how Danneel was doing and he says “she’s crabby and ready to have this baby” and laughed.
During the conversation, another girl talks to him if Danneel received the book that some fans did on her and Genevieve support. Jensen says if it was given to Clif then he’s sure she did. Someone says that’s nice because we know she gets a lot of hate. And his face fell a bit. He nodded and said “yes she does”  it’s like the old saying goes, she can get 10000 messages of love but it’s that one message calling her a slut and a whore that sticks with you”.
Previously posted on Jensen Daily, Jensen asked fans not to spread pictures of his daughter after her birth.
    He said that as celebs they understood what they signed up for. But his child isn’t a celebrity and he’s really going to try to protect her from that side of his life for as long as possible. And in short, he would like us as fans to NOT reblog, post or help spread in any way photos of his daughter. He said he knows the fans are like a pack of wolves that if you don’t feed them they will come for you and he laughed. He said that he and Danneel will get pics out for us IN THEIR OWN TIME if we are patient and that they just want to enjoy it themselves for a minute or two."

Oh, and we should all be chomping at the bit for the release of the gag reel. The scene in LARP and the Real Girl where Braveheart!Dean gives his inspirational speech and then takes off? Jensen shared at the last con that he slipped in the mud and fell flat on his face. Apparently that outtake — in glorious slow motion — plays like every five minutes on the gag reel. Or at least that’s how it seemed to poor Jensen.

DJ Qualls:  felt really bad because Jensen had tons of dialogue, emotional scene, and DJ kept missing his few lines.
"SPN isn't a professional working environment." We screw around. On last day, got hammered at bar, got sick. Stayed awake all night.  DJ: was so sick & out of it, didn't recognize Bob Singer. Introduced myself. Blew lines. Haven't been back since. Garth may be dead!
Ty Olssen: Wishes Jensen had more time to hang out, but busy guy. Ty has loved getting to hang out with all the actors at the con!   Then says he worked mostly with Jensen & he's nice guy but whole cast is great
Fave cast member? Most of his scenes with Jensen, a "stand-up, sweet, sweet guy.

He immediately grinned and knelled down asking And who is this? Hey buddy! (same tone of voice as the "somebody need a friend?" scene in Mystery Spot with the golden retriever) then he starts ruffling Haines' ears. … Jensen said he flew straight from LA to NY then is heading straight back the same night so he can be with Danneel before rushing off to JIBcon in Rome.
