Jared: Privileged information, we're going to be shooting here in Chicago.
Now we can talk about it, the angel stuff has been fun to play, superpower. Nice to
have Curtis Armstrong back.
Jared: Angel: I actually played him first – we filmed out of order. Jim Beaver wasn't available so we shot episode 2 first, then the second episode Tahmoh did a mimic of me.
He watched the scene I did in episode 2. Between he and I we fleshed it out.
Jensen, are you going to buy a pair of jeans as tight as Matt's? He said we could ask you any question…
Jensen: A pair of jeans as tight as Matt's? That's impossible those aren't jeans, he just paints jeans. The great thing about Matt is that before you can make fun of the extraordinarily tight clothing he wears, he takes the piss out of himself. Which is why we love him. No, I won't ever have a pair of jeans .., and if I do (shoots self)
(do you play Dean like Sam's mom?)
Jensen: yea, sometimes I lick my fingers and put his hair down. (laughter)
I've had to reprimand him a few times. He's gotten a spanking, call him young man,
Samuel. Um no, the maternal instincts in Dean are very far far away.
(S9 ratings, seasons?)
Jensen: we always talk a little bit about it. Years ago we didn't want to jinx it, but now it's like an engine that keeps running, we got to think about our families, life. Not until there's a network pick up. We are contracted for another year after this one.
Jared: A year and a half is a long time. Season 7/8 were tough we had cool stuff, the Bobby episode, probably my favorite episode of all time
Jensen: Not because..
Jared: we got some time off, and watched it – this is great, this is good television, we should watch this show. Other than a few episodes, it wasn't my favorite, when season 10 is done I want to be a bigger part of the show or nothing. If they keep such good characters, and…
Jensen: We want to make sure the quality stays par.
Jared: I want to go to work to get some time off – this Daddy thing, is difficult, I go to work to relax. We can vent to each other, I only slept 5 hours last night – if I say that to my wife, she's 'I always only sleep 5 hours'.

Jensen: It's like I'm really tired, oh really, YOU'RE tired?
(Abbadon smiting thing- were you happy how it turned out?)
Jared: Yes, there was a flame bar, and a bucket on the ground with water in it, because I'm throwing a lit book of matches at the camera people, so when I'm throwing it at her, I'm throwing it down, I hope that didn't ruin it, sometimes the BTS stuff
ruins it, I was like throwing it like a girl, (ooh) not that girls can't throw. Throwing like Misha. And the fire with Ezekiel, the ring of fire,
Jensen: That was just a circle of lights, interactive light, so that there's fire-like light reflecting off of us, they put the fire in afterwards.
(Jared will you sing for us?)
Jared: I love to make you guys cry, but not for that, I'm not a singer. I'm a good hummer.
Jensen: He can sing, he just chooses not to.
(Share something surprising that friends don't know)
Jensen: You guys know more than most of my friends – most of my friends know that I don't do this. I don't have any friends any more.. (Jared hugs)
Jared: I'll think about it.
(angels effects and lost wings now?)
Jared: it's more proverbial, but that was cool effects too.
So televisual effect, feels weird, when you're doing a scene they're like OK you need to kind of open your eyes…trust me it's not gonna look weird. The premiere was 'I hope this turns out as well as I hope', Tahmoh was so great, cool eye stuff, wing stuff, they energized what we're shooting now
Jensen: and I just get beat up all the time.

(Best and worst thing about going so long.)
Jensen: More pros than cons for sure.
Jared: the worst – in a movie you have an idea of what's going to happen.
With TV, you don't know, what you're doing January, next year.. it's hard to prep for. The worst part is just timing, getting on planes away from family.
Jensen: The schedule is probably the worst part, we wake up 6am on Monday to work, then by Friday we show up to work at 2pm, working to 2am. Then sometimes a day off, half day, 14 hour day. But for 9 seasons we have built a relationship with the character, really peel back those layers, really cool we've gotten to do this so long.
Jared: Depp said in the actor's studio someone told him, slow down, you only have so many masks inside you.

Jensen: most seasons they could make a 2 hour gag reel, we're on episode 10 and we have more than enough.
(the day in the life)
Jensen: I just stumbled upon that the other day, we were children. We were up on Mount Seymour. As far as what's changed, we used to shoot on film reels, a whole different process.

Like the Process of driving along, a process trailer towing the car, passing cars; then, instead of cars, people walk with lights like headlights, and now a led strip with lights programmed to look like cars passing. There's evolution, been a lot of changes (technical stuff). It's easier now, all the confusing bits,
Jensen: we compartmentalize our lives better.
(Sam and Dean fighting)
Jensen: we don't do that much any more, that scene when Sam gets up and fights the stranger that turns out to be me, we spent all day doing the scene, the choreography.
We were just talking about it the other day, we don't do that any more, we should do it while we are still young enough. So spoiler, there's one coming up, not a Sam and Dean fight, but a fight.
(How do you feel about the Crowley thing)
Jared: I like it, I like Mark Sheppard, it's nice to have somebody else around, Misha, Mark, although I wouldn't say this in front of them, I like the human struggle in this crazy Supernatural world. It's fun.

Jensen: There's no plan, not yet, yea, I don't know, haha season 14.

Jared and Jensen’s panel ended, as all panels do, with Richard Speight coming onstage to give the time’s up. But this time, another member of the SPN Family joined them too — Osric, who literally leapt into Jared’s arms. Sort of like the spider monkey and the moose. Jensen couldn’t resist taking the opportunity to give Osric a playful whack on the butt, and then the boys just grinned happily at each other, while everyone in the audience did pretty much the same.
Jensen Meet+Greet notes
Lynn: I’m feeling so bad for Dean this season. It’s such a difficult thing to keep a secret from someone you’re very close to, and Dean is having to keep such a big secret from Sam.
Jensen agreed that it’s starting to really take a toll on Dean, who is dying to just sit down and say, look Sam, this is what I did and this is why I had to do it, but he can’t. Jensen compared it to ‘Breaking Bad’ (which I’ve never seen, so I hope I’m getting this right….) and the same frustrating situation of doing something you think is for someone’s own good and yet being unable to explain that to them. He actually spoke quite passionately about how hard it is, with as much empathy for Dean’s situation as Lynn was experiencing. That’s one of the things we love about all the SPN actors – they really care about their characters, just like we do.
Lynn: You had a line of dialogue where Dean talked about ‘getting whiplash’, and it really must seem like that for him.
Jensen agreed, and said that it gets even worse for Dean over the next episodes, as he inevitably gets tangled in a web of lies. And never knowing if he’s talking to Sam or Zeke makes him constantly walking on eggshells. Dean is used to having Sam to relate to, to share with, but he can’t share everything because Zeke could be listening.

Lynn: Is it hard to play?
Jensen: (nodding) It’s challenging. (He paused, then smiled) And exciting.
In fact, Jensen seems excited by Dean’s story arc this season because it is challenging for him to deal with so many changes in the two people he’s closest to, Sam and Cas. Both of them are different (boy, is that ever an understatement!), and Dean has a lot to deal with. It sounds like things are going to get pretty rough for Dean, and it sounds like, as an actor, Jensen is very much up for that challenge. He mentioned in the panel later that the mid season finale episode is going to be particularly challenging for Dean.
