Jared says he never fakes emotion on screen. Jensen rolls his eyes so big he practically falls off chair.
Jared admits sometimes scenes call for certain emotions on the page but you have to trust what feels right in moment.
Jared's advice to actors is to never fake it and trust instincts, not just do what you think you should do.
Jensen jokes that filming is so long that when they get downtime he and Jared have to spend time with family to remind them of who they are.

Jensen says that when you're acting your brain knows it's not real but your body doesn't. The saddest scenes stay with you all day.
Jared's saddest have been in Heart, Croatoan, something coming up "very soon" that Jensen calls an opening scene in an ep after cliffhanger
"Certain actors can just turn it on, I can't; I need to take a minute," Jensen says Season 9 is getting real y'all!
Jared took the role because of the people involved and because his Dean (Gilmore Girls) was not smart but he wanted to play someone smart.
Jensen really liked the attitude Dean carried, calling him "slightly comedic, slightly war torn." He related.
Jared's favorite episode was "The French Mistake." Gen's family was in town for her birthday and freaked out over the stunts.
"It was kind of a reminder of how strange our job can be" Jared says Gen's grandfather took a piece of stunt glass home.
Jensen's favorite episode was "Yellow Fever." He says the scream for the cat wasn't supposed to be so big, he was told it would be edited.
"stupid me I trusted him!" Jensen says of Phil. Jared imitates the "that was scary" but sadly no "Eye of the Tiger" remake.
Phil's directing the next episode. Jensen says he watches himself around him now.
Fave eps to film for Jensen include "Death's Door" at the top of the list as a touching episode that blew him away.
"It was so much bobby we got to take ourselves out of it and watch as a fan" Jensen says of "Death's Door"
Jared says his fave eps are the ones that can't really happen: you're in someone's head, etc, not just dramatizing everyday life.
"It's not a question of why didn't i but how could I?" Jensen says of being batman in a movie that needs a long time to shoot.
Jared got pretty far into the running to be in Thor. Thomas' godfather (big comic fan) recommended Jared play Nightwing if given chance.

If Jared could be a supernatural character on the show he'd be Chuck who has the power to write it all. Also Simon Said kid.
Jensen thinks it's be cool to "agro out" as a Werewolf.
"Not that I know of," Jensen says of if we'll ever learn what the Colonel was going to say at end of "Dog Dean Afternoon."
How does Dean stay in such good shape eating pie and bacon cheeseburgers? Jared mimes humping the skeleton statue on stage.
But seriously Jensen limits how much he eats on camera because of how many takes he has to do.
"We actually eat more similar to each other's characters" Jared says about real life.
"Jared enjoys oxygen and the world so Jared would find an excuse to keep living" Jared says about whether he'd do what Sam does.
But if he had to die to literally save the world Jared says he would do it.
When Jared and Jensen get tired to drunk their Texas accents come out.
Jensen says his brother was straight laced and a bookworm and never got in trouble. He made up for that.
Jensen tellin story about cops calling his mom in middle of night saying they have her son in handcuffs 3 towns away.
Jensen's mom replied "Wrong number, my son's in bed!"
Jared says at end of season 8 boys chose each other but at the beginning he was wandering, trying to find home, unhappy bc he chose opposite
Jensen says when he got the script for "Dog Dean Afternoon" he thought it was time for a lighter ep but was worried about working with dogs.
Jensen loves dogs and has two but working with animals is tough because they don't always respond when needed, hit marks, etc.
The fetch bit on set was something Jensen and Jared worked out on set. In script Sam threw it only once.
"Our show can get pretty dark and that can stay with you" Jensen says on why the lighter eps are not only welcome but needed.
Would Dean have walked out on Ben if he was his son even to keep him safe? Jensen says yes because of dangerous circumstances.
Misha messes w/guys, Jared grabs fake hammer and runs off stage to get him. Jensen: "This is why we're better a teammates…you're my Thor"
Richard is returning Jensen's gym teacher uniform to him on stage. It's a sad goodbye ceremony that Matt's uniform never got.

Jensen Here, I wanted to show you this picture. I came home one night and was like “give me my baby” and picked up JJ, who unfortunately had just eaten… (Jensen pulls out his phone and holds up a close-up of him with his face literally COVERED with baby vomit)

Jensen brought his phone around so everyone could see, happily setting it up each time to show himself covered in baby vomit first and then his daughter’s evil smile.
One fan asked, out of all the characters he’d played other than Dean, which was his favorite and which was the most difficult. He said his favorite was Alec from Dark Angel, Alec was as much of a bad boy as Dean Winchester, but underneath, that same vulnerability and yearning, and a capacity for heroism that he continually tried to deny. As for the most difficult…
Jensen: It was this show you’ve probably never seen called “Still Life”.
Fans: It’s online.
Jensen (laughing) That character was very difficult to play, it was a very dark character and a very dark show. After the first few episodes, they wanted us to “bubblegum it up,” but that didn’t make any sense.
Jensen went on to say that, speaking of dark characters, Dean is in a very dark place right now and that will get worse soon; it's starting to wear on Jensen mentally outside of the show and it’s draining.
He talked about his favorite food (what his last meal would be) and he went into details about his exercise regime

Favorite J2 moments: Jared putting on moose antlers thoughtfully provided by a fan, and immediately headbutting Jensen. Jensen then pretending to shoot him, and Jared falling on the floor.

Jensen snuck onstage to surprise Felicia Day, who jumped about a foot when he came up behind her and grabbed her shoulders. That reaction changed to one of total affection, as the two hugged.
Of course, nobody doubts that this cast loves each other. Here Jared proves it by spontaneously giving Richard a big ol’ smack of a kiss.
Richard, Misha, and Felicia appeared onstage for the return of Jensen’s coach shorts from After School Special (that Richard had worn to karaoke all year) and turned it into a military style ceremony, with Jensen facepalming and Jared filming the entire thing like a fanboy (and reaching down to slap Jensen’s ass when he got down on one knee)
Jared auctioned some of his wardrobe from Gilmore Girls for charity, and fans generously contributed an amazing $5,600.
Jared: Love you guys! This is a place where we are all allowed to be who we are, not who they want us to be. So stay here and let’s all raise a lot of money for some amazing causes, and just be who we want to be, and – if you’re less than eighteen close your ears – fuck everyone else.

On JJ and “earning his first Dad stripe”

One of the women immediately asked if there were any stories to report about JJ that he wouldn’t mind sharing with us and Jensen proceeded to tell us that over his holiday break, he had flown out to Louisiana from Canada to meet up with his family. Immediately once he got to the house, he called out “GIVE ME MAI BABEH!” because he was so excited to see JJ. Danneel, however, had neglected to tell him that she’d just fed JJ. So Jensen started excitedly bouncing her while she was making all these happy faces at him and then lifted her up above his face…. needless to say, JJ puked up everything. On his face. He held JJ back out towards Danneel, who was nearly on the floor from laughing so hard, and told her to “TAKE. THE. BABEH.” but instead Danneel being the fabulous wife she is pulled out her phone and took a picture. In said picture, JJ is looking super smugly at the camera while Jensen’s entire face is just covered in white. We got to see it and it STILL cracks me up to this day.
On Danneel and his last meal
Jensen talked about Danneel for a little while and said that his last meal would probably include something that she cooks. But the problem with everything she cooks is that she rarely makes the same thing twice and never uses a recipe. So he’ll go up to her and tell her something she made was really delicious and that she should make that again, and she’ll shrug at him and tell him she just did it off the top of her head and that there’s no way to replicate it. So that’s always disappointing for him, but she does keep him on his toes because of it. He also said that his last meal would be a thick steak and steak fries but no vegetables because who needs to eat their veggies when they’re gonna die, anyway? Jensen said that he’d also want this pasta dish that’s something called “crazy pasta” from one of his favorite restaurants.
On his workout regime
From there, we went into talking a little about his exercise regime. Jensen said that since he’s gotten older, it’s not so much about strength building/exercising anymore like lifting weights, it’s more about stamina training. And since Supernatural is a physical show, that keeping his stamina up is really important to him. Apparently he’s helped a couple of the camera guys and the crew guys lose weight just from helping them with exercising and eating right which was really sweet, but as for him, he said that he has such little time on set that his workouts are sporadic and they’re fast. He said that he and Jared, if they have a half hour between takes, will go into one of their trailers and do one of the P90X workouts because some of them are like a half hour long, so they’re fast enough to get done between shooting.
On Jared and their tentative future wine label
Jensen did talk a lot about Jared, and focused mostly on the fact that he and Jared wanted to start the wine label not only because they’re both such huge fans of wine but because they wanted to have something they could do together outside of work, especially after Supernatural ends. He said that sometimes what they’re acting out on screen can be so heavy that it’s important for them to keep the tone on set light, and that they have things they do together that are light and fun and that the wine idea was one of those things. He was asked what the dumbest decision that Jared had ever made for him and visa versa and he said that he and Jared don’t make stupid decisions for each other, they make the decisions that they believe are in the best interests for the other person. Jensen even went on to say that Jared is very protective of not only him, but of Dean as well, and that Jensen is very protective of both Jared and Sam too, so any decisions they make for the other person or help the other person make is always in the best interest of that person no matter what.
Jensen talked the technical aspects of filming the show a little bit and talked about how he and Jared will add things into the script sometimes like different actions or words/lines that don’t take away from the script. He used the example of talking about some of the things he did in “Dog Dean Afternoon” like some of the actions he did when he was reading the script, that was how he imagined it playing out on screen and it cracked him up too much to NOT do on screen. Jensen said that with how dark Dean’s headspace was at that point, it was really starting to wear on him outside of the show and that was scary for him not being able to shake off Dean every day because the character was in such a bad place at that point in the show.
On the end of Supernatural
(My question was actually one of the first ones asked, but since it’s my question I wanted to write about it last.)
I told him (when I was actually able to get out words to the man) that I couldn’t imagine not watching Supernatural every week since I’d been watching it since before I was in High School and Jensen started smirking and quirked his dumb brow at me and was like “… and you’re not STILL in high school?” and kind of tilted his head with that dumb smirk of his. I told him that I was turning 21 soon, so I was definitely not still in high school and everyone in the room started laughing while Jensen SUPER sarcastically was like “OOOOOoh Ooooookay”…
So once I could breathe, I asked what he would like to do after the show ended. And Jensen said that it’s very shocking to have the same role for 9 years and that he’s incredibly grateful for it and for Dean as a character. But after Supernatural does end, he said ideally he’d like to stay close to home but knowing himself and how much of a workaholic he is, he probably won’t stay away from acting for very long whether that be TV or movies.
