Jared and Jensen Gold Panel (v)
Jared – was there live music last night, did my short but handsome friend sing?
Jared- I've been in a weird headspace, next time I see you guys I'll have a daughter.
Jensen: I have some advice for you – it gets worse.
Jared: Hi y'all southerners, Jensen how many are from TN? See, less than half, how many from north of the Mason-Dixon line, see more than half.
Q for Jensen, you had a scarf on and you gave Jared a hard time for wearing one last time. Jensen: Well I had it in my pocket, because it was cold outside, and last time Jared was wearing one inside, where it was 90 degrees and he was sweating. Jared plays piano.
Was it hard to do the scene with the plastic bag over your head? Jensen: the first time it was a little unnerving. We trust the other actors so it's OK, but I don't suggest wrapping plastic around your head.
Does anyone know anything about distilling, you know the hole in the top of the barrel, do you know what that's called? The bung hole. Every time they said that yesterday, this one was giggling, and when he started I started, and we were like Beavis and Butthead in the back of the tour.
Jared playing piano, stealing Jensen's mike.
Guest actors – about getting Stephen Amell on the show, he said he'd be OK with having Sam and Dean kill him, prefeably not Misha.
Jared: He lives directly opposite me across the street, so we talk a lot, so I respect him a lot, he is a hard worker, and he is going through the same stuff we went through, being away from home, his wife and kid are in LA, and you are thinking, I work my ass off for my family, but being away from my kids, why am I doing this to get time with them, but to be away from them? He's a cute little guy, he's built but small and that Canadian jaw. So, yea I'd like to cameo on his show or him on ours, which do you want? So when do you guys want the show to end, you can't say never? Jared hears "before it gets bad?" Jared drops the mike, Jensen picks it up while he is away from it and switches it off. Jensen: He's got other crossovers now, but I know a couple of vampires that are out of work. Stephen is more than welcome to come over and get killed.
I'm a twin, how close are you to your siblings. Jared is messing about. Jensen rolls his eyes. Every day of my life. Jared: for 12 years, Jensen: I have lost some of my soul.
Jensen, I'm getting more to look like my brother as I get older.
Jared, he's pretty old, he has a birthday on Wednesday 86 – he's good, only looks like 85. Jensen: Because 12 years on the show with him, it's like dog years.
Jensen, so you're a twin, I'm very interested to see the similarities betwen my son and daughter when they get older, they're not identical but I'm sure there's gonna be that weird connection.
Jared: I was at my bar in Austin, talking to a big guy and he talked about the show and said my brother Dean also lives in Austin, and he got confused about real/screen brothers.
Jared gets off stage and is clambering back on, Jensen says jump, Stephen Amell could do it.
If you could move your whole family into a movie, which one? Jared, … Christmas Vacation. Jensen – I don't wanna put my family in a movie, no, it's not safe, he falls off the roof, it's a terrible idea. I don't know, pass.
Q for Jared: If you went back to the beginning would you prefer to play Dean?
Jared, I already played Dean, the real Dean. I would play Sam, there is no human being on the planet who could play Dean like Ackles plays Dean and I think that's one of the reasons we're here 12 years in, we both get our characters. When the show ends, it's gonna be a sad day, we finish shooting in April and the finale airs in May, I think it would be wonderful to watch the series finale with fans in Lawrence, Kansas, ask the Creation volunteers, let's all get together and watch it live.
Q: Favorite director and why? Jensen, what's the diplomatic answer? We were quite different when the show started and there have been people who stayed quite a while that have been mentors to us, Kim Manners was one of not only my favorite directors, but people and it was sad when we lost him. Bob Singer continues to be the foundation of the show, although Kripke laid it out,
Jared – Kripke, he did the S4 finale where I had to kill my wife, love you Gen.
Jensen: And we have amazing guest directors
Jared – we had one who didn't like guns a bit like Richard Dean Anderson doesn't like guns, he is very anti-guns, doesn't like touching them.
Nina, her first episode I got shot, I thought has she read that? She hates guns, but she is one of our favorite new directors, I would do anything that
she does, anywhere, for any price, she is the coolest, super talented, she is wildly talented. We have Phil and Showalter, and Bob, with them,
we can be an actor, because new directors sometimes we have to tell them about the characters. Jensen – also RSJ, Jared- how cool was that episode.
My q is for Jared, (Jensen lies down) Jared, he's been dead before, he'll be back. Jared shhhhh, Jensen gets up.
Girl is crying and ask what Jared does when he is sad to be happy. Jared goes to hug her, and then sits on the stage and says one thing that makes him happy is to be with people who love the
show, it's not easy to fly away from your family especially when they're about to burst, (Jensen goes and pats Jared comfortingly on the head, then sniffs his hand and makes a face 🙂
But this is a big dose of mental health, yea, and read, walk, music. We went to JD yesterday and then I slept 6:30 to 10:30 and then I had a dance party by myself in my hotel room, Jimi Hendrix.
Jensen: no it was Toxic by Britney Spears. Jared: My therapist who I saw ast week, says his goal is for his clients to have a dance party or drumming party or singing every week, do something you love. Apparently it makes your brain feel better, just be yourself. Thanks you all, bye.

Jared M&G: Jared said he is helping Jensen with the brewery but can't be involved as an owner because of Texas laws that beer producers can't own bars, but the new beers will be tested at his bar.
they are confirmed thru season 14 but that if they shorten the seasons to 10 episodes, he and Jensen might be willing to go longer. He isn’t interested in acting after SPN but the Nightwing thing is intriguing.
He brought up that he’s anxious about having a baby girl. He calls Jensen’s daughter Birdy.
Jensen M&G:
Q: How did Danneel tell you she was pregnant with twins? Jensen: They arrived back from European con and Dannel and JJ met him at the airport, and she ran up to him with a card, so when he'd hugged her he opened it and it said something about being such a good daddy, how about doing it doubly next time. Danneel said she did it at the airport becasue she knew he wouldn't freak out in public, he wasn't excited at first, just like holy shit, but anyhow, it's too late to give them back now. (joke)
Jared and Jensen on stage to music. (v)
Crowd starts singing Happy Birthday to Jensen and a child brings him a flower and he hugs her.
Jensen: It’s not my birthday! I'll be on set working Wednesday, my official birthday and it's nice to start off the week right with you people.
Jared has a beanie on and crowd shout out show us the hair!
Jensen *points to his own head* it’s all here. Enjoy.
Jared: the chest hair? Jensen slowly pulls off the beanie and sniffs it and pretends to faint, remember the monkey video "I wonder what this smells like, and he falls out of the tree.
Jared: Nice to see y'all. The next time I see you I’ll have a daughter. Jensen: *points and laughs*. Someone: lock your doors, Jared is that a threat? I have lots of guns. Jensen: and two older brothers. Jared: And uncle lives close by.
Jared: The last episode, Speight directed, I texted him good job he was like uhh thanks, what's the catch?
Best birthday/holiday gift? Jensen:uhhh I don't know, grins and gestures – this.
Jared picks a long hair off Jensen, is that my hair? Jensen points, that's you dude, Jared: let's not delve in to that.
Q for Jensen, Dean affected your life? Doing anything for 12 years is bound to, it has given me extended family, brothers, friends, a life I could have only dreamed of and I'm very grateful for everything that's goes with it, good and bad, it's very time-consuming, but there are rewards that make up for that, to quantify that would be impossible.
If Mary hadn’t died, what would Dean have done? Jensen says that Dean wouldn’t be a ghost/demon/vampire hunter. He’d be hunting other things, like the ladies.
Jared makes Mary Had a Little Lamb jokes. Dean from Gilmore Girls would be a librarian.
Your fave aspects of the characters? Jared: I enjoyed Sam having powers. It’s been fun to play different versions of Sam, demon blood, Gadriel. Soulless!Sam, I liked.
Jensen: Yeah, he was a truckload of fun, that guy.
(They were late – a caption on screen says the guys will be on stage for the hour, everything else is pushed back 30 mins)
Jensen: I would have liked to explore Purgatory!Dean more. Jared me too, I want an entire season of Purgatory!Dean because Sam gets the day off. Write your congressman.
We're all obsessed with SPN, what are you obsessed with? (a shout of pi) Jared starts reciting pi.
Jared: We’re big fans of music, Kaleo. Jensen: (joke) Celine Dion, music festivals.
The screen behind them keeps freezing and it’s cracking them up. They are playing with the screen, Jared using the perspective, ha it's strange that I'm so fascinated with seeing us on TV.
Someone sneezes, they joke about little sneezes and both do loud ones.
Jared: It took Genevieve a while to get used to my loud sneezes.
Jensen: I have to get into an athletic stance before I sneeze.

After playing these characters for so long do you think you’ll have separation anxiety when SPN ends? Jared: Yes. Jensen nods. Jared: I like Sam a lot so he’ll be missed. Jensen: We don't know when that is, I mean we do, but we're not telling you.
Jared pinches Jensen on the screen. Jared: It’s fun to watch. Jensen: No it’s not, it's stupid!
Jared: I like Sam a lot, we are blessed, we have wives and kids that we love, the business has been very good to us, we are doing it because we care about the characters.
Jensen: we still enjoy telling this story, so as long as that lasts.
Jared: What do you want the last scene to be?
How many miles are on the Impala? Jensen I can answer that! I don’t know.
Jared laughs: That’s not an answer! I got it! I don’t know.
Jensen : they have put a new engine into the number one Impala. Lot of parts have been replaced, it's not an original. I don't know how many times it has clicked over, there's only 5 digits, it's 76,000, is that 176, 276.
Aspiring actor (17) Jared: I was still at school at 17, my advice is don't do it for money or fame, it's a tough road. Angela Johnson, a friend, I was showing her my house there were scripts by my bed, she was OMG is that how many auditions, and I said huh-huh no, I took her to the garage which has a thousand scripts from auditions in file boxes, and I'm fairly successful – remember why you enjoy it.
Jensen: Be confident but gracious and be resilient.
Any adventures: Jared talks about their Jack Daniel’s distillery tour yesterday, it's a beautiful drive. Jared: I like seeing homesteads and farms, cows, hay; we would take road trips when I was younger.
Jensen: every time he saw hay he would scream Hay!
Jared: They said the word bunghole a lot and it made me laugh out loud every single time. Jensen: And then I start laughing and tour guide would stop and give us the look and we're in tears, twenty people, luckily we're at the back where we belong. Jared keeps saying it and Jensen is laughing so hard.
What’re you afraid of in real life? Jared: Bears. Jared fell out of his chair he was laughing so hard. It’s not funny it’s legit! What’s the point of them? They’re big and they eat stuff! Jensen: So are you! Jared: That’s true. Jensen I don’t understand the point of mosquitoes. Jared: They’re tiny! Jensen: But what’s the point of them? Jared: Bears and mosquitoes haha. Jensen: You live in Austin where bears run rampant.
Fan has a deep southern accent so they both reply with same accent. Jensen laughs and walks off stage. Jared carries on with the accent and then there's a bang from off stage. Jared: Did somebody fall? Jensen walks back onstage, flexing his right hand. Jensen: I have a new fear, him doing an accent. How did they cross the Canadian border with a trunk full of weapons? Jensen: Well we were riding with the Sheriff, Jody, right? Jared: And we got fake IDs (still in southern accent) Jensen challenges him to do a northern accent, Boston (and it's terrible), New York (I was walking down Broadway) and Chicago (I love the Bulls), then Minnesota, (Jensen is doubled over laughing), Australia, and last one, Scottish. Jared does an Irish jig.
Jensen: I wish Ruth was here. Jensen is cracking up and so is the band. Jensen remarks he has cut his finger, can I get a napkin or something, I'm bleeding, something happened backstage, I wasn't going to tell you, I'll tell you later. Oh a band-aid, thank you. Jared: Are you dying? Jensen: (nods) eventually. (about Jared) The only way he can do an accent is by impersonating an actor doing that accent. Jared: My version of doing
the accent is basically saying where I'm from.

Q: why don't you use Christo? Jensen: man, that's going back, Phantom Traveler, you know what, it didn't work as well as he wanted it to, so that’s why Dean never uses it. Jensen: (she binge-watched) OK, it has been 12 years ago for us. You'd have to ask Kripke, I will ask him if I remember. Jensen says bunghole to Jared and Jared starts giggling again. Jensen: Wisconsin, go. Jared: I like cheese.
Fan from Loretta, Kentucky asks if they've been to the bourbon trail. Jensen: I'd like to, apparently there's whiskey there, my father-in-law and mother-in-law were there this summer and recommended it.
Q for Jensen, tell us about your beer company, and the name.
Jensen: my brother-in-law, Gino, we started it when we were in California. You know "This is Us"? A friend of ours, Justin Hartley, is on that show, he used to be a home brewer, and he was downsizing and gave us a pilot system, and we got into it for a couple of years, and then we moved to Austin, and I said to Gino what about opening a brewery, he said yes, sold his stuff, moved with us, well not with us, he's got his own place, and we were going to start small, in a warehouse, but the more we looked into it we realised buying a property would be more beneficial. So the building is going up right now, we get the steel next month, hopefully open for business in the summer, we got people who know a lot more about brewing to do it with us. And the name, it's only family involved, on the ownership side, my father-in-law, and Gino, and of course my mother-in-law and wife, so we kept referring to it as the Family business, and I thought it was funny, never thinking it would be available, and we trademarked it, and I thought it was a nice homage to all the people who made it possible.
What if Sam had died in the pilot and was just Dean’s imaginary friend?
Jensen: he wouldn’t be an imaginary friend because Sam would have existed at some point – haunted by Sam’s ghost maybe, but a friendly ghost, like Casper.
Last question: What is your ideal ending for the show? Jensen: First, I don’t think there is an ideal ending. Second, in my opinion, leave it open for the movie.
Jared: I think Sam and Dean have to die. Jensen: booooo
Jared: If they’re still alive they’re still hunting. Saying there's a movie isn't ending it, Ackles! Jensen: but with a big vacation in the middle.
Fan calls out that they could die of old age, they laugh.
Jared: hopefully it will go on for a long time, with you guys supporting us.
