Jared and Jensen Gold Panel (v)
Jared says they are on Vancouver time it's 7am. Jensen said he couldn't sleep last night, at midnight, which is 9pm. So watched the hours go by, tried TV, read, play games on the phone, script, news, anything that would put me to sleep, this guy's messages, so bear with me, two hours of solid me, and then it could get interesting or really boring.
Jared says they are filming ep 6 with Nina Lopez, and the last episode she did was Hitler's grand daughter who was from Pittsburg.
So we're on season 13, hope it won't be the last, wish us luck.
Question: Jensen, last year we had this talk – where were you at the concert last night? Last year you said you'd come.
Jensen: It's really hard flying East, we shot very late on Friday night so we didn't get in until 7pm last night.
Jared: there's a lot of BBQ and beer in Texas over summer so we've been juicing, pepper and ginger so it's been tough to walk around.
Jensen I'm sorry I was not there, … look blame Rob, he lets me know when I'm allowed to come, he likes Pittsburg to himself – all enquiries to rob.
Question – I love to draw (you), do you like to draw? Jared: can we see it later? I'm jealous of people who can draw, I wish I could, we have a specific profession, like a sketch artist can do it anywhere, but we can't walk around acting. Jensen: To be or not to be..
Jensne: I went to this house party and there were actors acting in the kitchen, like monologues. Like you pick up a guitar, that's acceptable. In fact that's one of the reasons I went into drama in High School because we had music, art or drama, and I couldn't do any of that, so I guess I'll go make a fool of myself.
Fave childhood memory?
Jared: Not my favorite but the first that comes to mind, my 5-year-old just started kindergarden, I got to take him to school last week, and I had a flood of memories uncovered. He started a couple of weeks ago but I didn't take him until Tuesday.
Jensen: I have a lot of good childhood memories, so it's hard to pick a favorite one, but one of them, my 6th birthday, I woke up and put on my six-shooters and my hat, like I did every morning, and my western vest with my Sheriff's star, and I did that every day. (Jared mocks, Jensen says sarcastically) Oh I'm sorry we didn't all have My Little Ponies. I had breakfast and my parents had gotten a horse for me to ride, and we did not have a big garden, probably smaller than this stage, so I rode that thing in a circle for three hours, one of the happiest moments of my life, and those cap guns were going off left and right. I remember that vividly.
What would you do if not acting (Jensen I read you were into Sports Medicine)?
Jensen: When you're 18 and having to pick that can change, I never ended up going to school, but something to do with sports, because that's what I was into when I was 18, I have no idea what I would have ended up.
Jared: My brother did engineering and ended up a doctor, I would probably have followed his footsteps, becasue I idolised him, that or a teacher, that would be a lot of fun, teaching kids, learning together. Jensen: A boat captain – I'm serious … because that you get to go Arrr all the time. Jared: A wildlife photographer. Jensen: A food and drink writer.

Does anything from the set ever been in your dreams. Jared: sure, a lot of things, when you spend that much time doing something, I've had dreams with Kim Manners, now he has passed. Jensen: No, work dreams are nightmares. Now and again, but what we do is different from office work, it's not just work, it's our life, we have onset and home life and they blend together seamlessly, but the interesting part is like, do you ever dream as Sam? Sure, being late for work, forgetting your lines, which you normally do anyway, but do you ever dream as Sam. I don't think I do as Dean, there are times in my life when my wife is like "will you stop using the Dean voice", and there are times when she says "can you please use the Dean voice". (joking, no)
Anything in the show that was totally awesome and unexpected? Jensen: There's been a lot – The French Mistake, they had to call us. One of the reasons we love doing what we do, they do throw in crazy ideas. Jared: Usually we read it, not face-to-face but for some reason, I was in LA and Sera told me Sam is going to be soulless. I had to poker-face it, because I was like what?!!! I don't know how to do that, so OK never ask the writers again in person!
Theater – any plans< Jensen to return, or Jared? Jensen: no plans, but never say never, our dance card is full right now. I was talking to somebody who's come back to the show, I can't say because it's a spoiler, but it piqued my interest about that, so idk if it's the near future or the future for me, but I don't rule it out. Jared: I did theater in school I loved it and it's amazing, and it's the best training ground possible , you have to be on the ball, every time, but it's the same words every night, so you have to find a way to make it fresh, so it was great training, but it's scary, like going to a personal trainer, you don't know what's coming, but theater is awesome.
I'm probably going to getting fired for being here, so what's the last show you binge watched? Jared: I'm just going to watch, because this guy told me to…
Jensen: I watched Ozark in a week, I loved it, and told him he's got to watch it, Clif watched it in three days, great show.
Jared: the last one I watched was Breaking Bad.
Jensen: Peaky Blinders is a good one. There's too many hands, I can't decide…
You said you haven't eaten yet, … Jensen: when I walked up the stairs I just grabbed food like a handful, it was goldfish.
There is a place here called Burgertory. Jensen: Is there a way out, is Benny there? Jared: What do you get? … Thanks for the suggestion.
Unicorns or dragons? Jared: Unicorns because they aren't going to kill me and they fart rainbows (he points at himself), Jensen (sideye_): so many comments, it's hard to decide which one I want to use. I'm going dragons, so, Game of Thrones, Jared: spoiler! Jensen: so is everybody caught up? I was watching the second to last episode and they totally ripped off the scene when Dean turns into a demon, I was like blatent rip-off!
Well, that's it, Jared do you have any questions?
Main Panel (v)

Jared is having back problems and was told not to jump, but the pills worked, thanks. Jensen asks what he did. Jared: I turned 35 and fell apart, everything stopped working. Jensen: Yea, that's when it happens. They watch Jim walking off on the glass walkway and call him to come back. There were good gag reel outtakes from Jim from the finale.
Fan: I love you Jensen
Jared: I love him too
Jensen: That was for me, hearing goes when you're 35 too.
Jared: Anyone from Florida – I hope Florida is OK and damage doesn't happen. Are you done jabbering Jensen?
Jensen: Never, I want to thank football fans for being here on opening day, we're missing it too, but if we're going to be pulled away we're glad its for you.
Jared: we have earbuds in, so if you hear some weird stuff.
Questions: You both have three kids, what's that like?
Jared: imagine you're drowning, now add three kids. I'm flabbergasted that anybody can raise three kids without professional help, we have babysitters and nannies that help and we're still, what, it will be awesome when they're adults, my sister is here, my brother is working.
Jensen: For the record, I was happy with one, but my wife oddly enough wanted three, she's one of two, so we negotiated, and landed on two. and… You always find a way to get what you want, don't you ladies? It's amazing.
Jared: She found the loophole, you gotta be more specific, I don't mean two more, I mean two total. It was a loose verbal contract, held no water.
Some of you noticed I stepped away from photo-ops for a minute, she was calling me, repeatedly, because Arrow our daughter was saying Dad, so unfortunately, it was our plumber that was there, bah-dum.
Favorite episode to film?
Jared: ther eare so many
Jensen: Looking back, my most favorite Baby, for several reasons but it was so different, the technical logistics were very challenging, after ten years, also one of my favorite episodes to see.
Jared: Hollywood Babylon, the first one we made fun of ourselves, and behind the scenes, they got new trailers for the stars of the show that were bigger and better so we were like, we'll have them. But the star trailer you saw in the show is like Will Smith's trailer, we didn't get that.
Is it easier to act with kids now you have them?
Jared: It's ona kid-by-kid basis, it depends onthe actor, the timing sucks, they have to have breaks every two hours, for school, and it
complicates the logistics so they don't work 14 hour days. Well, it depends on the parents, sometimes they are nice, and the kids want to be with their friends, play with my game boy.
Jensen: "game boy?!"
Jared: what do kids do nowadays?
Jensen: I don't think it changes, with the kids, we've had some amazingly talented children, it's refreshing to get the innocence and they aren't over-thinking it, the biggest change is for me, watching a father and children relationship.

Do you ever find it hard to leave Sam and Dean?
Jared: No
Jensen: We have done this so long we're very good at turning it off and on, keeping who we truly are outside the show. There is a separation, but I share similarities with my character, but the pain and emotions stays on set.
Jared: Where it stays with me more is the preparation, I read it over and over so its in my subconscious.
Jensen: I'm the opposite, I haven't read a script since S3, I get a pop-up, what the story is about.
When will there be a S13 promo?
Pretty soon, maybe this week or next I imagine.
Jared: I want to see it.
Jensen: You've seen it, they sent it to you. (they whisper, why are you whispering)
Could you do a crossover with Arrow?
Jared: I would love to, it's one of my favorite parts of ComicCon seeing them all around.
Jensen: Logistically, how would you make that, because the Winchesters don't live in a world of superheroes, they live in a world with real heroes. Amell has certainly expressed his desire to come over, he's like a crossover slut, you know, he shouldlock itup, (joking).
Jared: If they could figure it out, I'd like to.
Favorite people to work with?
Jensen: On out show? We've been very very fortunate in the casting, you can see with the conventions.
Jared: I'd say it was fun having Gabriel around because of TallTales, we enjoy Speight. I had fun with this girl Ruby.
Jensne: I could literally give a dozen, but one, my character and this character's relationship makes it a pleasure for me, because I get to exercise my comedic muscles, and that's Briana, just trying to make her laugh is so enjoyable for me, and Lisa Berry.
Best lines? Jared: low sodium freaks, you married fake Ruby,
Jensen: I'm a posse magnet
Jared: You're confusing reality with porn again. (they both laugh at it)
What did you think about the S12 finale killing so many characters.
Jared: To quote Mark, I don't like it but it makes good storytelling. It's not peaches and cream and lollipops and sunshine sometimes crap happens.
Jensen: When is it ever lollipops and sunshine?! It's the same as when I read that I die, Cas is dead, Mom's dead, Crowley is dead, meh, they'll come back, but sometimes they don't, so I'm meh I was wrong, but by then I've moved on so it doesn't matter. I'm emotionally disconnected, its' a great way to go through life. I'm kidding.
Anywhere in the world, where would you travel? Jared: Vancouver and Austin, where my family is.
Jensen: snore, if you could travel anywhere with your family, where…?
Jared: I love Australia (fans shout out their home towns)
Jensen: If you could go anywhere, Cleveland, and cracks up. Jared: Florence, Italy. Paris, Texas.
Jensen: I always wanted to go to um, (distracted) somewhere I've never been, one of the Scandinavian countries.
Jared: Vegas. Jensen: Reno. You know, I would love to go back to Japan, that's a very unique and awesome place. For the anime.
IS there any scene that was cut that you're disappointed about.
Jensen: Very rarely do we have whole scenes that end up cut, because the writers know how much to write.
Jared: the end of S11, the last three episodes of season 11 were all ten minutes too long.
Jensen: that was a unique situation, there was a lot going on behind the scenes that complicated things, Jeremy was leaving, and taking over, but they read the scenes, and they will know how long it will take, and they know to add more, we've got it down to a precise science at this point, we might cut a few lines but we don't shoot stuff that isn't used. Just because we've been doing it as long as we have.
Jared: I'm sad at every outtake they leave on the floor, that's not in the gag reel, I'd watch hours of it.
Jensen: We won't even be filming the camera operators will come in with the board upside down that says gag on it. We could do a three hour gag reel, but they don't budget for it, so it's difficult to spend time on it. It's not their job, they already cut back, start a kickstarter for a three hour gag reel.
Do you have a movie you're embarrassed to admit you watch over and over? (they ponder, fans hout out Magic Mike)
Jared: I haven't seen magic Mike. Jensen … all the way through. (laughs)
Jensen: The Change Up. Jared: One my kids watch and when they go to bed, I'll continue to watch, the original Alvin and the chipmunks, sing along, do the little dance (demo).
Jensen (laughing). You've changed.
Favorite bad guy: Jared: Lucifer is great, he's gone to is he bad or our friend, or the most evil to evil.
Jensen: Yes, also some honorable mentions Azazeal, Fred Lehne, and Alistair, Chris, those are my two.
Jared: Lilith was cool but it was so hard to say, we had so many messed up takes.
How did you feel about God being Chuck.
Jared: I loved the reveal scene, I got goosebumps, to reveal to Sam and Dean.
Jensen: (Joke: I didn't know until I showed up and Rob was there, what are you doing..) No, we knew for ages he was coming back, but the scene when Dean is expressing his feelings about God is one of my favorite scenes of the whole season.
Binge watching? They're amazed at her 11-season binge watch of SPN. Jensen: were you multi-tasking or do you have bed sores?
Jared: Breaking Bad Jensen: Arrested Development, it was a comedy but way ahead of its time, super smart, made me laugh all of the time.
Someone onthe glass walkway distracts them and they tap their watches.
Jared: Pranking… the most fun was thinking of things to do to Misha, but he had a mole, a double agent told him about them, which is probably lucky becaue they could have caused bodily harm.
jensen: Our pranks are not elaborate, George Clooney is famous for elaborate pranks, we see an opportunity and seize it, we don't prank each other, we usually paint a target on Misha, in fact Friday night (they demo)
Jared goes to hug Misha and Jensen kicks up between his legs. Jensen: the funny thing was you said – to Misha – I hope that was you. Jared: I was trying to get him to laugh, he was on camera. Earlier that day, Misha probably told you this, Jared is like… (foot up in Misha's crotch), up in his trench coat, moving "things" around, and the director and everyone behind the camera can't see, and is like what IS gong on Misha?
Last question: If you could work with any actor, dead or alive, who would you choose?
Jensen: so no other kind of actor, just dead or alive?
Jensen: I have gotten to work with that actor…my father, actually.
Jared: He is so talented and brilliant I would be blown out of the water, but Robin Williams.
