JK Your show has been on 13 seasons now, that's a lot of seasons.
JA How long have you been on? (15) You got me beat, I'm just trying to keep up with you. It's a lot of TV.
JK You must like the people you work with, the part, the show, all that stuff.
JA I don't. I lost a bet and.. I do,
JK How old were you when you started?
JA Uh let's see, been on 13 years, gotta do the math, uh 27, because I just turned 40 last week. (crowd)
JK They're happy you're alive
JA Someone just went "wow", I don't know if that's good or bad.
JK Could be taken either way, just judging by your face I'm going to say good. So did you have a party?
JA Thank you. I had four. My wife said gotta do a surprise thing, so the day after my birthday we had this little dinner, and I thought awesome that was great. Then the next day, another surprise, afternoon type of thing, so great, done. I should say the first one was on my birthday, that was my four-and-a-half year old, that was the only one I really cared about, she dressed me up, and there were candles, I had glasses with a 4 and 0 on them, there's a picture somewhere. So that was great then the last and final one was a week later, up in Vancouver where we shoot SPN, and I just thought we were gong to dinner with a couple of crew and cast, and it ended up being 460 people of current and past crew, it was overwhelming to say the least.
JK They must like you.
JA Or it was the free booze.
JK You own a bar or a brewery?
JA Speaking of free booze, yes my wife and brother-in-law, opened up a craft brewery in Austin.
JK Brother-in-law, that explains it, that's how you wind up investing in things like a brewery. How's it going?
JA It's going really good, we've been brewing for quite a while, but we finally opened the tasting room the beginning of this year, we didn't want to make too big of a deal, we thought we'd limp in on a quiet Wednesday afternoon. The line was out to the parking lot, a 2-hour line just to get in,
JK Like your birthday party, ha
JA So we scrambled, luckily we had a couple of security people there, both veterans, and they said, we'll put out the vet batsignal, there's a social media thing, for whatever, and two guys stood up, in the brewery, and they still work for us now. These guys were patron and they work for us now, because they answered the call. You know, amazing US veterans
JK You allow them to drink on the job?! I love this idea, for people who haven't seen the show, you guys encounter all sorts of Supernatural, obviously, Lucifer, demons, so somebody came up with the idea you would merge with Scooby Doo.
JA Listen, Jimmy, 13 years into it we got to come up with some ideas outside the box.
JK Did you not like this idea?
JA I flipped for it, I grew up watching Scooby Doo, they said initially we're thinking about an animated episode, I immediately loved it because it meant time off.
JK We've got a clip of how it happens, (video of them zapping into the TV), Is it G-rated like Scooby Doo or are you still tearing the guts out of people and beating hearts.
JA It toes the line, hah my character Dean, ever trying to be the ladies' man, that he's not, was taken with Daphne, obviously, and I feel like she was a little curvier in this particular episode.
JK They sexed her up?
JA They sexed her up a bit, there's a moment when animated Dean goes oh! and they cut to her, and I don't remember her having .. that, well prime time.
