J2 are trying to speak French.
Jared says that Scoobynatural was so much fun that they’re “trying to crossover with every other animated show.” Jensen: We should do Simpsons… they’ve got almost as many episodes as we do lol.
On Friday, they just shot the first day of episode 23.
Jared says it’s his first time in Montreal, loves the city. The boys wish they had an extra day here to hang out.
Jared: I get very liberal with my French accent because I don’t speak French very well…
J2 are making fun of each other for how they pronounce Montreal with too much of an accent lol.
J2 went out to dinner last night and had steak.
If Sam and Dean could go talk to their younger selves, what advice would you give them? Jared: Uh… don’t fall for Ruby’s tricks?
What Jared thought about Sam has changed a lot over the years as he grows and learns.
Jared says as much as he loves to read, it’s better to experience. To Sam: Go with the flow, your brother’s got your back.
Jensen to Dean: Probably use a little more grease on the doors.
If you could do an episode with young Sam and Dean, what would you like to see from their past? Both would love to see how they learned to hunt from their dad. Jensen says it would be cool to see what and how John taught the brothers. Jared: Initial hunts when they were young and see how they learned.
Jared mentions the “Just My Imagination” ep and how we saw Sam wanting to hunt with his family. He wants to see how Sam learned what he knows how to do.
Jensen doesn’t read scripts ahead of time and Jared does.
J2 talk about having DNR’s (do not reveals) about what they can’t talk about re: what’s coming up on the show. Jared apparently reads ahead all the time and confuses Jensen lol.
Jensen says they feel kinda bad about repeating themselves a lot at press events because they repeat themselves a lot, but have to figure out how to not sound repetitive with it.
Are there specialists devoted to finding local stuff for the locations where episodes take place? Jensen explains that it counts as a prop, so that’s the prop master’s job. Writers also work to make stuff feel authentic.
“We only shoot in Vancouver, but we have to make it look like a million different places, so…”
Jared is not remembering info about ep “Route 666″ and Jensen is and Jensen keeps hitting the cymbal.
“Still got it! And I didn’t even get any sleep last night.”
How do you manage working so much away from your families when it’s so hard for other people? Jensen: Well, we’re simple folk, too… It’s really thanks to our wives. They’ve taken on a lot of responsibilities to allow us to work.
Coming home: “and then their fourth child shows up…” it takes some time to adjust back into a routine. It works because they’re invested and because they want to make it work.
Jared talks about how important it is when they’re acting to have laser focus, and he thinks they have to apply that to family time, too. When they’re at home to spend time with their families, they aren’t reading scripts, etc. It’s strictly family time.
Jared mentions that they called home yesterday and JJ and Tom were playing guitar and dancing back home. Jensen: we don’t have the quantity, so we have to have the quality.
J2 talk about their audition together. Mentions how they might’ve had mutual friends, etc. During an audition it’s more important right away to get the job than to make a friend. (They got both :)) Jared mentioned re: meeting Jensen at the audition: “He’s a cute little guy” 😛
It wasn’t a forced friendship. Jared described it as organic. Jensen: He was already there in the waiting room when I showed up. Alone, which was weird.
Boys start teasing each other. Jensen: I think he had like a hoodie on… this floppy-haired kid. And I was like, you’d better not be reading for Dean, because I’m gonna mop the floor with you. Jared: I was sick of playing Dean. Jensen: Yeah, he was already playing Dean. Little did I know, because who watches Gilmore Girls? Later, Jensen asked who Jared was auditioning for. “Sam.” Jensen: Oh, good, yeah, you just dodged a bullet.
Jensen says he sat across from Jared, just talking pleasantries before going into the audition.
It was surprising that they were called in together and were the only people at the audition. “We walked in, there were like 30 suits there to judge our lives…” Didn’t rehearse, but it flowed really well when they went together 🙂
Jensen: It’s like meeting someone and finishing their sentences right away.
Jensen: when we came out, it was like “I think we might have this…” and also there’s nobody else here, so if we don’t, we suck. We have to rethink our lives. Jared: probably the most important ten or fifteen minutes in Supernatural history.
Jared talks about how he got used to hearing “no” at auditions. Jensen: can you imagine all the producers that passed up on THIS? *gestures up and down at Jared*
On the way offstage, Jensen was struggling to get a coat off a mic stand it was hanging on, so Jared reached up and got it for him :’) It was Jared’s jacket that he had taken off during the panel and Jensen was grabbing it for him 😀

J2 arrive onstage!
Everybody holds up signs for the s14 renewal! Jared: je t’aime (I love you)! Lots of screaming. Jensen: and bonjour to you, too!
Major standing ovation!
Jared: speaking on behalf of both of us, we really mean it when we say we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you guys.
Jensen: [the screaming] woke me up. Jared: when I had to carry him here, he was sleeping, so…
Everyone was yelling “I love you Jensen and Jared” then Jensen thought he heard “I love you Misha” but Jensen said it was impossible because nobody loves Misha.
Jensen: we are filming the last episode and there is a LOT going on
Jensen: wish we could stay a little longer (in Montreal), but we’re filming the end of our season right now… lots of stuff going on, which we’re not gonna tell you about. Jared: and he hasn’t read the script yet, so…
Jared says they finish filming next Thursday. Jared: there are some lines coming up in the upcoming scripts that he says (another tweet says that he read so not sure if he says the lines or someone else does? wait for video lol!) he’s been waiting YEARS to hear. Gave him chills. Jensen asks which lines and Jared whispers them to him. “Oh yeah, that’s a good one. You guys are gonna hate it.”
They’re super excited about the season finale.
This girl has always keep fighting tattooed on her arm and Jared just went and hugged her and thanked her. Jensen: get a tattoo, get a free hug from Jared.
Has it ever crossed your mind that you’ll have to give “the talk” to your kids? Jared: I’m hoping uncle Jensen will give my kids the talk. Jensen: It’s gonna be blunt
Jared: my son is six Jensen: perfect time
Jared talking about how they speak like adults at home, not using words like “hoo-ha.” “We call them what they’re called…” Jensen: what are they called, Jared?
Shep kept saying vagina in school, “babies come out of the vagina.” Got in trouble at daycare. Jared hopes Shep can be as medical as possible otherwise he’ll send him to Uncle Jensen lol. Jensen to Jared: I’m still not convinced YOU know where babies come from.
Jensen: avoids the talk question hahaha
What other show or movie would you like to see spn do a reference/homage to? Jared mentions the Simpsons again from the gold panel. A friend sent him an article about why spn should do an ep in the DC verse.
Jared wants the Winchester boys to go see some superheroes. “You’re not as tall as I thought!”
Jensen re: DC universe: Winchesters would be like, “do you have to wear tights?”
Jensen thinks it would be fun if the brothers went to Jurassic Park. “I’ve got this image in my head of Dean just running, screaming his head off… and then just a velociraptor running after him.”
Favorite part of the job? Jared gestures to the audience, “this is pretty cool.” Jensen missed the context and got confused 😛
Jared: a lot of amazing parts of the job. Met some amazing friends, met a… girl who watches over my kids… Jensen: I think they’re her kids, and you just get visitation rights.
Jared: I’m a fan, a fan of movies, or books- Jensen: but are you a Sam girl or a Dean girl? Jared: I’m a Dean girl… we’re talking about Gilmore Girls, right?
Jared says it’s neat to see the fan experience from a different perspective since he’s a fan of stuff and it’s neat to be on the other side.
Jensen: there is a lot about the show that is reflected in our lives. It’s a big part of our lives. I enjoy doing things that I can’t do in real life like doing 180 in cars, killing vampires, kicking down doors…
Jared: what do you mean not in real life? I hear a door was kicked down last night. Jensen: …so last night, we came home from dinner, it was a little later than normal… time to go to bed. I went to my room, put the key in… wouldn’t work.
Jensen: went down to the lobby to get the key fixed, went back upstairs. Tried it again, still didn’t work… “then Dean started to be born.” Went and tried to get it fixed AGAIN. Guy went up with master key, didn’t work.
Jensen: keep in mind, it’s late. It’s after midnight. I’m tired. I have to get up early and do a show for you guys… maintenance guy is called, the key doesn’t work. Jensen is getting frustrated… doing a French accent to imitate the other people, lol.
Apparently there’s nothing they could do, so Jensen: “listen. If you can’t get into my room, then I will get into my room.” Hotel guy: we can’t get in. Jensen: I’m gonna kick the door in. Hotel guy: …okay? And then Jensen kicked the door in. Left a hole in it.
Jensen looked at the hotel guy, “you’re gonna need a new door. Goodnight.” Closed the broken door and then went to bed.
Jared: the upside of that story is that anyone here could’ve spied on you in your sleep last night. Jensen: I didn’t care at that point.
Jared: so long story short, his favorite part of being on the show is learning important life skills! Rob asked him later if the idea would’ve crossed his mind if they didn’t kick down doors on the show all the time 😛
He doesn’t think he’d have thought of kicking the door if not for the show.
Fan asks with angels and heaven and stuff on the show, if it has changed your religious beliefs personally? Jared says not really, he doesn’t believe talking about it with fans is pertinent because he respects everyone, as long as they’re nice person & they’re nice to others.
Jensen says that they usually avoid those kinds of polarizing topics. Jared: hesitate to label themselves with anything bc they don’t want to be separate. Jensen: we just want to accept everybody regardless of all that stuff. Jared: I don’t care about somebody’s beliefs, as long as they’re nice people.
Weirdest fan experience? Jared: I don’t like the word “weird”… I’ve had a couple weird fan experiences, like meetings Eddie Vetter, and I was the weird fan.
Jared: refers to fan experiences outside of cons “in the wild” and Jensen doesn’t get it. “Was it on a safari?” lol
Tells the same story from when they were on The Talk about meeting a flight attendant who was a fan of the show. When he mentions the flight attendant has a tattoo, and Jared says “prove it”, Jensen turns around and pretends to pull down his pants. Jared: and I was like “Jensen, when did you get here?” The flight attendant opened up his shirt and had a major anti-possession chest tattoo
During the train story situation, there was a fan taking a lot of photos. Jared says he forgot for a moment he was a tv star and was so embarrassed and stuff that he went over to ask her to delete the pictures. Made a deal to take one with her if she got rid of them.
Jensen: over the years, there are numerous occasions where we get this… and mimes out various ways if taking sneaky phone photos 😛 Jensen: we are hyper-aware of people taking sneaky pics of us.
Jensen talks about visits they’ve had from Make A Wish. “It’s baffling. Like you have a wish, and you use it to come see us?” Talks about a young fan who came up from Australia, spending the day with her on set. The dad came up to them after, tears in his eyes, tells them, “I don’t watch your show, but it makes my daughter happy, so thank you.” Jensen says it’ll stay with him for the rest of his life.
Any cute or funny stories about kids or families? Jensen: I kicked a door in last night. That was pretty cool. Don’t know if you’ve heard that one.
Talking about how Jared calls rollie-pollies “doo-doo bugs.” Jensen’s making fun of him, and the two of them go back and forth bantering and it ends in a “doo-doo” joke. Jensen: “we’re children.”
Jared: doesn’t like spiders – but his kids made him hold a tarantula that isn’t poisonous.
Jared says that he is “lizard-catcher level expert.” Talking about how Shep loves catching bugs, lizards, etc.
Jensen: Yeah, my kids don’t do anything… well, my wife- my wife and I, we were together- got a video of JJ. She loves guitars. Doesn’t know how, but she’s great at faking it.
Last night Gen, Danneel, and the kids hung out. Shep was over doing a lot of dancing and acts it out 😛
JJ is super into Coco right now and last night was playing guitar while Shep was dancing very intently.
Jensen: “The hits just keep comin’ with 6 kids.”
I’m 10-15 years, how do you think you’ll reflect on the fandom? Jared: hopefully in that time, we won’t be reflecting on it because we’ll still be an active part of it. Jensen: not only was I gonna say the same thing, but when he started talking, I knew he was gonna say it. Jensen: you’ll never get rid of us. Jared says he wants to still be active with the fandom even after the show is over and even if they and the fans don’t see each other as much.
We got a little bit of singing from Jensen when he teased about singing happy birthday in the lowest tone possible. Also did the rockstar jump!
Fan asks if they think they’ll be stuck after doing so much spn in terms of getting other roles. Jensen: you mean do you think we’ll be typecast? Be stuck as Sam and Dean Winchester forever? I friggin’ hope so!
Jared talks about how in playing Sam, he’s played a ton of different parts- demon, angel, human, even Jared. It’s a cool opportunity and makes the show unique in that way.
Jared has had so much fun playing pranks on Misha and Alex this season, he, however, tries not to premeditate them because it’s funnier this way.
Jared jokes that they prefer their pranks to be spur of the moment, so that if the situation arises, “it was temporary insanity!” with no premeditation 😛
On a recent filming day, after shooting Jensen’s coverage, during Jared’s part, Jensen changed some words in his lines that he refuses to repeat now.
Jared got him back later. Scene was supposed to be Sam running in, says “Dean!” Jensen says “what’s wrong?” and cuts. When they did it, after Jensen’s “what’s wrong?” Jared said “I just saved 15% or more on car insurance!”
They say it’s not so much about pranks as it is constant shenanigans. Mention how whenever there’s a screen that a guest star is looking at, J2 will make sure that the content on the screen is very nsfw 😛
Every time you see Jared & Jensen with an iPad or phone or electronic stuff, know that the content on the screen is unrated and totally inappropriate and placed there at the very last minute so you can see the honest reaction.
Last question! Young fan asking a question in French to be translated. “Do you like horses?” Jensen says he loves horses, used to own a couple. “I’ve been riding since I was six years old.”
Jared says he loves horses, doesn’t ride as much as Jensen did. Mentions Gen’s show where she rode a lot. J2 also show off the girl’s nails that are done all fancy :’)
